TROLL: Brady won his 7th Super Bowl and Simms rated him #10 QB in the league behind Ryan Tannehill and some other bums.

It was insane to put Lamar as his best and Allen 2nd QB compared to everyone on TV and on yt. Proven amazingly right. As with Mahomes, that is when I started following him. Cannot remember where I saw him, but he called Mahomes either 2nd or even the best qb in the class. I think he remained with Watson until the end and Mahomes 2nd, but he said it that Mahomes has the highest ceiling. 2018 I wanted Browns to take Lamar because of Simms’s take and what I saw after he pointed out how good he was. Even with Kyler there were so many doubters. Herbert take was crazy, proven right. Even with Zach Wilson. I think Jets are the worst org for a young QB. They just do everything wrong with developing QBs. Mahomes would have failed in Jets org

Why only two answers? He isnt trolling for sure. He is just giving his opinion. This isn't black or white or a yes and no type of thing.

By default he's not a troll because he played in the league, something 99.9% of people watching and commenting would/could never do. Skip Bayless is a troll. Simms sees the game from a perspective we don't so naturally people will disagree with him. And if people aren't disagreeing with you it means you're not right.

Lmao. You're going to take shots at a guy who's not only been around the league but also groomed to be a QB his entire life AND a guy who makes an analysis watching film and your entire counter arguments is that PFF GRADES SUPPORT EVERYONE ELSE? Yeah, nothing 'hot takey' or 'click baity' about your analysis at all...

You’d be surprised how many guys played in the league that don’t really get the nuances of the game. Simms is one them.

You can get away with it at most positions. Even some QBs can if they’re athletic enough. They’ll never be great QBs, but they can stay afloat

A guy like Simms trying to be a pocket passer in the NFL will get exposed every time. He doesn’t have a high understanding of the game, and it’s clear in his analysis

hot takes aren't necessarily bad takes. just means he trusts his own evaluation. more evaluators should do the same. there is a problem when everyone has the same exact list. I think he's just better at it than everyone else, especially with qbs, and they freak out cuz he's not following the herd. I've always respected his opinion cuz for the most part it is just better than most.

I've been listening to him since the beginning of his podcast career, probably like 6 years, and he's definitely knows what's good. I've been hoping the Raiders would hire him as a scout under Gruden, but he's probably going for more than that nowadays.

I have trouble listening to Simms sometimes because of his, to me, distracting speech. As far as his insight, he makes educated guesses which turn out right and wrong like every other analyst and scout. He puts out a lot of content at times when we’re scrambling for worthwhile football coverage.

how is he a troll. he is a former qb, he actually knows football. like the intricacies of football not just wins , losses and first downs, touchdowns and field goals. Iono it just seems like all the guys who actually demonstrate to me that they know some subtle things about football seem to be the former players and coaches. would love one media member to come out with some serious xs and os knowledge come on now. it never happens. show me one media member who doesnt just bounce opinions off of each other, gossip and react to wins and losses. lol thats all they can understand oh this team won today therefore this and therefore that lol it's so surface level with the media guys. GET INTO IT media guys. not talking about you dude, talking about like the guys on tv who get paid alot of money to talk nonsense

I look at Simms as a more fact based person and a good nose for talent. I choose to listen to him and not people like Skip and Cowherd during the year. As for draft selections - guess what, there are tons of scouts/team personnel and they don’t all get it right or agree. Welcome to athletics - its about humans.

@bucksdiaryfan
@bucksdiaryfan - 28.03.2024 07:52

Also, he "test drives" his choices with his friends around the NFL to make sure they aren't "bonkers" so he doesn't just throw bombs to see what damage he can cause -- it makes me think he says things that others are thinking but are afraid to say because they would expose the person to ridicule (for instance when he had Harrison third he said many of the NFL people found it "interesting" but hardly crazy)

Ответить
@bucksdiaryfan
@bucksdiaryfan - 28.03.2024 07:47

Hahaha!! Yeah, his opinions are idiosyncratic... and I don't agree with his focus on "elite traits" rather than raw football skills, but I HUGELY respect the fact that he does his own film watching, defends his positions, and is willing to get out on a limb if he thinks he is right... knowing that its in his best interest just to mimic conventional wisdom (he's Chris Simms -- he doesn't have to make a "splash" to get his name noticed, its been noticed since he began his career)... also, I love his passion for the craft... he's NOT a troll, he may be dead wrong but he is NOT a troll -- I listen to him and Florio every morning while shaving and dressing for work

hes not a hot take artist. that is skip bayless and stephen A. they say literal SHIT for the sake of controversy, clicks, debate. they don't believe what they say, just get people going with nonsense. how people watch that crap is beyond me.

simms is an analyst that isn't afraid to go against consensus, which to me is admirable. consensus is BORING and safe and cowardly a lot of the time. and when he goes against it, he provides reasoning and rationale. everyone is going to be wrong in the predictions business, but there is a feeling of security when everyone is wrong with you. chris isn't afraid to go against the grain, and that is a great quality.

dont be a sheep.
