price estimates are absolutely worthless nowadays for several reasons. first of all - nvidia cant be trusted with pricing. they always want people who already just bought a card of them to sell it now and hope to get the next new thing of them for the same money. they lied to customers big time with the RTX3000 release and many ended up havin no gpu at all for over a year. secondly, for a well designed cooler, the demand will drive the prices up. prices for sought after custom designs could be 500 dollar higher than the most simple models. (for example the MSI 4070 GamingX Trio sells for 1300 here in europe now.) in the worst case scenario history could repeat itself and the demand for the new cards could be so high, that customers just cant get them.

I was really hoping that they would beef up the 4060, I would go for AMD but I need the green team for editing.

$800 eh. And what Asus version ~$900. One of these years Nvidia will provide a compelling reason (value) to replace my evga 3 slot 1070 ti. Maybe 2026 when 1000 series a decade old.

It is absurd that a $1000 graphics cards looks like a bargain to some people. I remember when people said $1000 was too much for a flagship card.

Since the 7900xtx is 900-1200 whats the problem you see the price of everything go up along with computer parts but yet we care more about the price of a super high end computer part while it cost damn near 300$ a week to feed my family use to do it on 150$ its not just nvidia its everything is expensive

Should I return my Gigabyte 4070 to Amazon and get the Founders 4070 Super? I love my card, pretty sure I won the silicone lottery with it because its extremely stable when overclocking, but at the same time, if the prices are the same, why not go with the 4070 Super?

I’ll play devils advocate for a minute - is there any good reason Nvidia isn’t able to lower pricing to historical norms? As the compute power increases, is Nvidia unable to proportionally reduce the cost/compute unit to maintain the same relative cost?

I last upgraded in 2016. Been looking to the last couple weeks and totally shocked by the prices. I could buy just a mobo now for more than the cost as a mobo of the same tier plus RAM and CPU cooler. Absurd

Thanks to AMD they are forced to already end of life the 4080 and 4070 ti and reprice and ''Refresh'' the series.. Thats why even mild competition is what we want in the GPU scene :)

Can anyone tell me if there's a reason i should choose between a Founders edition or another brand like Asus, MSI etc? are there any positives over picking a FE? (I'm waiting for the supers to release so i can get a 4070 or 4070 super, depending on how prices go)
