Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 - 9 Months Later!

Someone please calm my angst me against screen breaking issues. Just bought the Fold 5 Lols.

Bought it on 9th Nov 2022. 10 months later, 17th sept 2023, there was suddenly a black line on the crease of 2nd screen and it became completely useless. I never drop the phone and it remained unscratched (verified by samsung service centre). I was denied a replacement and the repair will take almost a month. It doesn't worth it and i think Samsung lied about the durability.

After 1yr with the zfold 4, I'm hooked !! Very hard to go back to my Ultra. However, the hinge will eventually fail, making it impossible to lay flat. Its not a question of will it happen but, when. Samsung is well aware of their design flaw and will blame you for the damage, charge you $600 to fix.

Had mine for 16 months. The tablet screen has a black mark running down the crease of the fold. Making it impossible to view anything where the mark is. I wouldn't buy phone again because of this. I also did research and found many people with
experiencing the same problem.

The battery is horrible. Charging it twice a day minimum

7 months in and fold Crack and then black spots started in center fold. Normal use with a case and still breaks from normal use. I'm switching from the fold

I'm one who will put buying some thing new till the 1 I have breaks, It has been 10+ years from my last new phone it is a LG V30. So if you take $100.00 a year it would have payed it self off.I think I will go to this phone

Had to get my fold 4 screen replaced for free from Samsung after 9 months (no cracks/scratches)

I work in IT in a engineering office, I’m always in outlook and typing up tickets, I’m hoping this split screen feature will make my life easier, I’m tired of swiping back and forth on iPhone to reference things, my biggest concern is battery life…

Preordered a Fold 5 because I use my phone constantly when I’m at work but not working. I’m coming from an iPhone 14 Pro Max and I am very excited to get something different for the first time in a long time. It feels like the first revolution since switching from an LG enV to an iPhone 3GS.

Love my fold wont part with it. Have tried a few cases trying to get away from the drop once broken cheap Chinese plastic crap cases - happy to go with something beefy that will stand, store an S pen and still be chargeable wirelessly. Love to hear your recommendations to protect this expensive but outstanding device from an outdoor use contractor or site perspective.

I just returned my fold 4 to Samsung because my phone would not open all the way. Luckily it was still under warranty. I had it 11 months when I start having problems

Might be picking up a Fold 5 from a zflip 3. Pretty excited

Have had mine roughly 6 months . The only complaints I have are with the camera. Hopefully, when the z fold 6 or 7 are released, we get cameras equivalent to the S series. Amazing phone, but for me, it wasn't worth the switch away from the cameras. Was expected * the durability is 10/10 I've dropped this beast 8+ times by now and not a scratch. Charging twice a day with occasional top ups tho 😂

My problem within the last month is the dust. I cannot open my fold 4 all the way flat. I have no other problem besides that. Should I dip it in water to try to remove the dust? I have used a vacuum and a blower and neither works. I'm not familiar with opening the phone.

Ich bin total enttäuscht, von der Qualität, der Geräte, zu den Preisen.
Meine Frau hat von mir das Flip 3 bekommen und ich habe mir im selben Zuge das Fold 4 gegönnt.
Die Geräte mögen zwar Wasserdicht sein, aber absolut nicht staubdicht, was auch IPx8 aussagt, leider!
Beim Fold 4 ist das Display am Schanier, bereits nach 3 Monaten gebrochen, bei meiner Frau gestern, nach nun gut 13 Monaten.
Absolut enttäuschend!

Ich traue mir erstmal nicht mehr zu, ein solches Gerät zu kaufen, wenn dann nur gebraucht, den gebrauchte Geräte sind günstiger, als die hohen Reperaturkosten.

Ansonsten, waren die Geräte, bis zum jeweiligen Defekt, ausgezeichnet, überzeugend und innovativ!

Im tempted to trade in my s21 ultra for the fold 4 im also tempted to get the s23 ultra still not sure yet

I'm also around the 9 month mark.

As for durability its not too great from my experience. I let it slip once when getting out of car and there is a small crack on the screen. It may have been a one to two foot slip drop and it dropped in a cement driveway and chipped it. At the time i didnt have my case on so it cracked it and due to having said case i can still use it fine but i do have samsung care so I'll be getting it fixed soon. I also get these air bubbles in the inner screen protector its not a huge hassle

Overall i love this phone. When i watch tv be it for movies or sporting events i usually end up watching it on my phone and needless to say the experience was enhanced with this phone.

Due to the file explorer feature i am able to basically use this to do a lot of personal tasks. And i use the phone for office meetings and such.

I absolutely love the phone and i bought it with a monthly plan with 0% interest so when it is paid off as long as it holds im gonna buy another fold in the future
