I have a Kum two blade sharpener, just like the Blackwing. It still takes off more lead than I like, so I use a cheap snap-off craft knife or an elegant teeny Opinel folding penknife

How on Earth,yiu make such a goofy video,trying to teach something that only exposes your zero knowledge? Also,does it take so much wisdom,to realise that those 2 holes,are a unique choice and not a 2 step process? Also why on Earth you oversharpen the tips so much,when you (supposedely) know,that the tip will break ommedeatly when it touches the paper,even with the lightest touch...I guess it's not wrong... people seem to accept all this,as if you where teaching proper methods... Humanity has become more dump,than the bird who hides its head on the ground and thinks none can see it...

After destroying 20 dollars worth of charcoal pencils I have decided that the entire medium can GTFO of my house. Mechanical pencils and lead stick holders all the way.

You dont need to dispose of dirty sandpaper, graphite comes off easily with some water. You can use wet and dry emery paper which will last forever. A little soap and toothbrush helps get it all off, even stickier leads.

The Staedtler sharpener is not a 2 stage sharpener. It just gives you 2 different angled points for whatever you need. Softer leads typically can’t hold the very sharp points so you would use the lower angled point for those. Great clutch pencils IMO.

WHY Does Steadtler tub thing not work? Nobody talks about that. I have bought 2 in last 4 days. They do nothing, break my lead usually.

Sad, my Staedlter tub sharpener just breaks the lead. Ordered one, returned it. Sent new one it worked one time, then nothing, just breaks my lead.

I bought a sharpener off ebay and the point is 'professionally' long. Really a good 'long point'.

I constantly drop my pencils on the floor, especially if someone starts talking to me while I draw. Can you show us how to sharpen a charcoal pencil that has a broken end? I find it's really hard to return it to a state with a nice point.

I’m just getting into drawing and ordered a drawing kit with pencils, charcoal and colored pencils, shading tools, sandpaper, eraser, sharpener, even came with a sketch pad, and coloring book. Love the kit, as I can hold all my pencils and tools in one zip up binder! Been drawing and practicing. Love learning about all the tools, tips, tricks, etc… It has made me so happy. I forgot how much I loved to draw as a kid. Taking art classes in high school, and then just kind of letting life happen… stumbling back into it has definitely brought some joy back into my life ❤

Why did he say " a lot of the time when drawing with graphite you'll be using the tip" I usually sharpen my graphite pencils with a knife so I can draw/shade using the side. Have I been doing things wrong?

I use an exacto 11 knife for my pencils and prismacolors because it feels safer and more precise to hold compared to razors and box cutters, even when the 11 blade is quite brittle. I use a ciruclar saw to sharpen my Wacom because it's very effective.

I just got my charcoal pencil and i sharpened it with a standard sharpener, I'm very curious why is the lead breaking until the lead just become shorts
