The Problem With a "Switch 2"

Two things. The Wii u wasn't at all just the wii bit stronger. And also that console had a lot more issues than just being that which it wasn't. The main issue with the Wii u was marketing. It was also the fact that the Wii was inflated by mainstream media. The news was telling older folks about the Wii Oprah was telling people about the Wii. Everyone had a Wii because they kept talking about the Wii. Then when the Wii u came around and people were confused about what It even was All those older heads who know nothing about video games but bought the Wii because mainstream media told them to buy a Wii didn't come around for a second time.

I do agree that the switch 2 should be bigger, but only in the shorter side, so they can fit potentially beneficial but thick items inside of it. And also a better fan.

It should definitely take cartridges from the original and support the original joy cons, just like how the Wii U used the same discs and kept using original Wii remotes.

Nintendo is finished. The switch 2 leaked specs is only 15% as powerful as the xbox series s.

They should call the switch 2 the Nintendo cloud, and have all games digitally downloaded to the console over an Internet connection.
And only have code in a box games sold at retailer's.
No more Scalpers, no more used games.

It's pretty obvious what Nintendo will do, add switch pro joycons to the switch 2. Making it a competitor to the steamdeck.

I wish the switch 2 gets vr support (lil cameras that are needed for the headset) and that it can use more controllers like the Wii more with sensor bar and like the Wii U gamepad. I hope the switch is able to have support for vr!

I see the Switch successor getting announced by summer 2024 or 2025 coming out by holidays 2025 or 2026, I'd rather if it got announced by Summer 2025 and came out by Holiday 2026 because I think this need more time in the oven and improve on the marketing because I don't want another Wii U on our hands, Nintendo hasn't said anything about it yet but if they give us a code name like Project Atlantic that when We know we'll get a new console because Nintendo has given their consoles and handhelds code names before

It's time to stop believing in leaks and fake articles and wait to hear if Nintendo announces it's code name, then we'll know that the next console is on the way

A big difference between the Switch and Wii is that the Switch familiarized mainstream audiences with many Nintendo IPs, most of which have staying power. Also it's a more appealing product in general, especially now that the industry is trending towards mid-sized games like fortnite and fall guys.
