Well it has been a while since this video was created. I'm surprised that black market or cracking of access ports has not been a more popular option in reality. I haven't seen any of it which surprises me even more with his popular as such, things as iPhone cracking or rooting of Androids has happened. You think that acessport would be simpler to hijack than such smartphones which I'm assuming have way more complicated protection in them

I have a 997.1 Turbo and was finally looking at adding more power after I got bored with it... was leaning towards Cobb so I could run e85 maps and switch back to 93 octane maps for my "offroad" track-only car with no cats here in Florida. Gotta find an alternative now :(

I was one of the first shops to become a pro tuner for Cobb access port and it was a. Huge leap in the availability for Subaru's (then) and I have no negative feelings about the AP my shop is closed for a few years now and ive been away from the scene and working at a OEM manufacturer R&D but when I heard about the things that were changed in the AP software I cant help but to think that the people who purchased the AP prior to the change were sold a product that was advertised to do certain things that it can't do now so should they not get some sort of a refund or something?
I mean its not like the laws were changed or anything these laws were around since the 1970's but the only thing different is the enforcement of them so???

HP Tuners is a similar device, only they don’t come with any canned tunes, but you get unfettered access to every nook and cranny of the ecu. They are facing similar pressures from the fed trying to get their dick in the door, only instead of going the way of the Bitch like COBB has, they’ve made an emissions test to certify that their customers know that while they can do things like delete the rear O2 sensors (which control nothing and only monitor converter health) or delete secondary air injection etc..., they should not😉. Essentially saying to our glorious federal institutions like the EPA who still can’t fix the drinking water in Flint Michigan, that “Hey we told our customers that they shouldn’t do these things and they’ve acknowledged that we told them, but ultimately it’s their property to do with as they please” plus the fact that some purchasers of products like an access port, HP Tuners, EFI Live etc etc... are building off road race cars that do not need or want emissions controls and aren’t required to have them. This is how nanny state government agencies that don’t understand a thing seek to regulate the thing into oblivion, by going after manufacturers. They’re trying to do the same thing with firearms manufacturers, with California allowing people to sue gun makers when a shooting occurs. These types of regulatory strategies are only employed against certain industries, when my bank account was... I guess “hacked” is the term, I couldn’t then turn around and sue Microsoft because the criminal used a computer running their operating system. Companies like COBB that get on their knees for a little federal bukakke, instead of doing right by their customers should rightly go out of business

See it's these kinds of videos are bullshit... unless you run E85, if you remove emissions equipment and still run pump gas it increases harmful emissions. Unless you are building a full race vehicle you shouldn't even deleting emissions equipment, that equipment is usually only active under light load and cruise conditions.. so do your research and these crap with a grain of salt and you can still make good power. Find a tuner that know how to tune with emissions and you can still run E85, you just have to use a separate map.

This is completely false information and fake news, nothing is happening with Cobb access port you could still use you can still get private tunes you could still get custom tuning there is no restrictions whatsoever just now you’re tuners won’t be able to turn off your engine lights for certain things like a downpipe.. Besides that nothing has changed for the Cobb access port

As a owner of a mk3 supra, carb cant tell if my supra is running a standalone if its running a plug and play ecu since it mounted in stock area and predates obd with nothing to plug in and check. Only a stick up the muffler, that I can tune to pass smog.

I m in Europe and i have a focus st. Was watching vidéos about the cobb accesport and i was ready to buy one but now i have no Idea what to do 😅

Cobb will figure out a way to sell CARB compliant products, and support non-CA state owners. It doesn’t make sense not to do this.

Suck the fun out of life, tax us to the max because the imissions from tuning a car comes close to cargo ships and industry. Just another way of the government stealth grabbing cash. This whole green issue is out of control. I'm in the UK and now paying £2.05 a gallon of 99, 75% of that is tax. Plus £120 a year road tax so I can ride on roads so full of pot holes it cracks peoples alloys. All while the elite fly about in private jets an choppers. Covid, brexit, war in Europe the perfect excuse trifecta to tax f**k us even further. PATHETIC! totally fed up with it all.
