The thing I noticed the most from this series is that it's not about the lives of gangsters. But how truly dysfunctional gangster life can be. The ONLY functional character in this great series is Dr. Jennifer Melfi, played by Lorraine Bracco.

The wives & children of these gangster all suffer from this dysfunctional environment.
