ОтветитьReal cool. Someone commented here that they were acting like they were off road vehicles...They were off road vehicles. They were used for everything in those days and America didn't quite have the modern roads that we have today. Although that one street looks a bit like our downtown here. lol ;)
ОтветитьThat printed shit on the screen ruins the video
ОтветитьThere is a car in the Canyon Texas museum made in 1898, a Studebaker electric!
ОтветитьOh, were would cars be today if Nikola Tesla was allowed to continue his research into wireless electricity?

I love how technically all cars back then we're off-roaders, because roads weren't really a thing back then yet.
ОтветитьI love vintage cars😍
ОтветитьI would love to have one. Today's cars suck!
ОтветитьThe model T did not have its detractors, among those unconfined to the cities. It behaved like the WWII jeep of a latter era, in terms of its unquestionable accomplishments.
ОтветитьNo heaters, no defrosters, no automatic transmission, no power steering or brakes, no windshield wipers, few gas stations, few vehicles in the early days had windows and even fewer mechanics. It was a challenge owning a car then.
My grandparents were married in September of 1920 when they were both 22. That first year they bought a new Buick (back then there were coupes or what was called a touring-meaning it sat 4 people but no windows, just a convertible top). Since they lived in Kansas it was only driven in dryer weather, otherwise it was up on blocks in the barn. Very few people drove in the dead of winter until cars had windows. Besides, they had only water for the radiator, antifreeze hadn’t been invented yet.
It was rough owning and maintaining a car until the middle twenties.
Even up to the lates 70’s here in Aus our car ads still had them ploughing through gravel and dirt roads as proof of their being made for our conditions, 5 mins away from the city and gravel roads were still plentiful then, along with potholes and corrugation everywhere.
