I got this when I was a kid and I loved it. That old raspberry pi Kano kit has raspbian on it now and I have the sd card with Kano os somewhere.

Proof that you always learn something, I learned that I use wasd wrong.

In high school, I wrote a thesis I called “Project Education” - attempting to explain the premise that many students would learn better by DOING things than by being told or reading books about how to do those things.

When I was five years old, I could read about as well as your son did in the video. Fortunately (providentially?) my parents - at least with regard to reading skills - were usually as helpful to me as you are to your son. But that was then (1949) and this is now and my attempts to learn about computers and the Internet are frustrated by my failure to find anyone who understands how little I comprehend of the language they are using to try to teach me.

Can you (or anyone else who reads this) please let me know where I can find tutorials that can take me from where I am now (doing word processing and sending emails via a Chromebook) to where I want to be (able to create a post a blog on the Internet) WITHOUT using “computer lingo” words and phrases I don’t understand?

That reminds me when I helped my dad reassemble his IBM computer.

As a CS student and someone who's been coding for a long time, I'd say you shouldn't use things like scratch or Kano after you've taken Pre-Algebra. Once you've taken Pre-Algebra, I'd recommend you getting your fingers dirty with actual programming languages that apply those same skills to real world applications. So, really, this seems like for ages between 4 and 13.

I love how he just lets him do everything when i try and teach my friends how to do something i get annoyed there doing it wrong and then i end up just doing it myself

LOL! love the idea about the education part.... they need to expand the idea to a regular computer, not just the RP3. based on how you teach, you'd be able to teach computer building!
