I hope he's okay!
ОтветитьCould you give us a reason not to apply the tourniquet all the way up the arm? Is it possible that the artery could retract after the injury and end killing him anyway?
ОтветитьAs a USAFmedic/USNcorpsman I love these videos. Very handy for quick thinking. Your best friend is yourself. Be calm remember whats available and act.
Ответитьlooked like it cut his brachial artery, yikes!
ОтветитьInstead of relying on a purpose built tourniquet, just tie a shoelace on the arm and twist it. It works freakin' awesome and is one less piece of gear to carry and to dig through.
ОтветитьThis is why i hate glass tables, windows , doors, of any kind.
Ответитьthis probably wont get read, but I have a great story that's almost completely unrelated, over the summer I worked at a summer camp and not my regular job as a life guard(still was a life guard), but on my first day back to my regular job im just vibing at the top of the slide at the place I work, and I feel like a thud come out of the concrete floor so I look over the railing and it was one girl(~12ish) with her hands over her mouth looking at her freind who had fallen down the stairs, so I got to go down, do cpr and resuscitate her back to having agonal breathing with a pulse and do recue breathing while waiting for ems, fun first day back. she is fine and is expected to make a full recovery last I heard.

ОтветитьHe was bleeding like a stuck hog! I dont think he made it
ОтветитьI was wearing flip flops & stepped on a long nail sticking out off a wood & blood was squirting out of my foot
ОтветитьRip
ОтветитьI have done a bunch on site first aid. But the ones I struggle with are the ones that I happen upon on the road.
ОтветитьAlways great videos! I show your content to my EMT-Ms .
ОтветитьI use this video in my classes to help people understand "wow, that's a lot of blood" and just how quickly blood loss can happen. I really wish that everyone would have some basic medial gear, and a passable level of knowledge how and when to use it, it's just a brick wall with most people.
ОтветитьPeople in construction should carry a trauma kit too. I just had a construction worker the other day screaming for help because he got cut pretty bad. He didn't even have anything. Not even a bandaid. Luckily I had a trauma kit to help him so he could be driven to the ER by his coworker.
ОтветитьHey, somewhere i read that the wrong use of hemostyptics can be fatal...whats that about?
I think it was something about celox and the pigments of it when it clumbs getting to the heart or something? :D
I have combat gauze, can i still use it? Thanks!
Jumped around to watch 5 seconds of the video. This idiot's face is the rest. Not sure what he's saying, don't care.
ОтветитьI think that when doing work like this they shouldn't wear tank tops.
ОтветитьI'm not a first responder but definitely a good information! Very useful and thanks for teaching
ОтветитьThis happened to a man that works in a glass factory where I live. I work at a fire department here. We was called out to assist with med care. We was able to stop the bleeding with a cat tourniquet and also applied pressure with trauma gales. It was cut all the way to the bone.
