Integrity-- The Salsoul recordings, as well as all of the earlier Gamble-Huff (Philadelphia International Records) productions were recorded at Sigma Sound Studios, at 212 N. 12th Street in Downtown Philadelphia. The building is still there but there is no longer a studio. However, there is a historical plaque across the street that acknowledges the studio. Sadly, while it mentions that David Bowie and Stevie Wonder once recorded there, there is no mention of the real heroes who consistently recorded there, such as the MFSB, the Salsoul Orchestra, O'Jays, Harold Melvin, etc.

To say that we were so blessed to have been able to be young people growing up in an era of such talent is a gross understatement!!! We (Chicago, NY & NJ) were bathe and baptized in this music (if you were on the earth from 1970 to about 1990, give or take a few years) I'M TALKING ABOUT YOU!!! In the mid 1970's i used to go to Weequake park and hear dj's jam,then in the early 1980's i started going to house and basement parties when i was 15 (i'm 50 now) so that's where my love of this music began.

Hi Demitri, Can you tell me if the Salsoul company is still in South Philadelphia? I looked and wen there for the Thanksgiving Holiday to research this company but could not find anything on Vincent Motanna and the Salsoul company originated out of South Philadelphia. This is great music and even though I am not familiar with all the artist on this cd. Thank you!
