Honda EU7000iS Generator: A Comprehensive 3-Year Ownership Review

It's hard to find a fault with that beauty! I get by with 2 2200's in parallel for the simple light weight but if I had the $ I'd go with the big boy for run time. People knock the price but when you need a generator you're not having a good day to begin with and that's when I want tried and true equipment.

They are the best but they are not worth 3x the price of comparable wattage inverter gens. You don’t pay 3x the price of a Honda accord compared to a Kia.

I have the same generator, but without the bluetooth. I converted mine to tri-fuel using the MSK7000 kit and now I use natural gas. You can see it running at various loads on my channel. The EU7000is a great generator.

How much does it cost in dollars?

Mine is brand new with exhaust kit and exhaust fan for my shed with fresh air inlet.

I adore the Honda generator, however I find it hard to justify the cost. I just bought a new Champion 8750/7000 from Tractor Supply for $900 vs. $4500 for the Honda.

I decided to take a chance on the DuroMax XP7000iH. Honda's and maybe Yamahas are the gold standards, I have never been disappointed with any Honda engine. The Duro has a 5 year warranty and I have a back up if it fails, a Honda 4000 so it doesn't feel too risky. If I didn't store the gen in an unlocked plastic shed, I would be more inclined to with the tried and true higher dollar brands. I appreciate the video and advice.

Honda Generators are the very best.

The only negative for me is the price but it is the best generator available. Bluetooth is not important for me.

It amazes me how people will asked the price of something. They must have never heard of Google! or they are to lazy to research the product price on Google.

I agree Honda Gens are more expensive than others however when during a power outage it is vitally important that it starts and functions. And that repair centers and parts can be found should something come up. And Honda Generators are the only brand offering that at any scale!

I have a smaller portable Honda generator and two Honda snowblowers so I won’t argue with the quality. But I would add one more con and that is the price. Other manufacturers are catching up and putting out quality generators for athird the price.

I could go through two of them in the lifespan of the Honda and still do better. Honda is really dropping the ball by not offering this as a dual fuel. Propane is so much easier to store.

Need to run it on a schedule or it doesn't start. Big pain to move and pull chord. Not too easy for a weaker person.

Have a 7000iS for 6+ years here in Downeast Maine. Only did standard maintenance ( oil, filter, fuel filter change ). It has has run perfectly with our outages. BIG CON is that it needs 4 wheels to pull out. Two wheels are not sufficient with snow, rain, age or the weight. Hey Honda: get a kit to add wheels !!!! Or ideas ?

How much gas would you recommend keeping on hand?

I have a bunch of generators but I just picked up a used one for $300!
It was in a no start condition,I swapped the battery and cleaned the terminals and it fired right up!
3500 hours on it but from what I understand it will last three times that easy.
Honda makes the best stuff.
