That Childlike Princess/Queen from The Neverending Story had a very similar headpiece (crown?) as THIS princess.

Irulan was miscast, in the books she was extraordinarily beautiful, tall and austere. None of the Characteristics that that actress has, as good as she is in other parts. The blue eyes ate total blue though in the books, no irises were visible. But why change the story. Not much remains of the books and that annoys me more than I can say politely. They always try to make it their own and that is wrong. So any corrupted storyline will ruin it as they ruined the LOTR. I am so disappointed with Denis Vileneuve's adaptation of this lore. Bladerunner 2049 is a Sci-fi movie, this is not. This author needs to get back to reading the books because he is way off!

Long live the fighters of Muad'dib! Edit: it's a subtle irony that despite Rabban constantly being denigrated as stupid by the Baron, he's the one to point out that the fremen are more of a threat that anyone expected, AND he's the one to recognize the danger of Muad'dib. A another hint that the Baron is a poor judge of character, and far more fallible than he thinks.

Are people so inept nowadays...So totally without independent thought, or, imagination they need a movie trailer "explained"?
Who says Alt Shift X has any clue what the trailer, story, movie is about? At what point did Alt Shift X become the "queen of meanings"?
I used to get irritated at the levels of pathetic sycophants looking for "answers" from opinionated "know it alls" online...Now...I just laugh knowing you're all going through life according to someone else's direction. No path of your own. No true thoughts or actions of your own. You simply amass like lemmings hoping your online masters will lead you to true knowledge and riches.
You're all going to be left so far behind...It's hilarious.

Think of "Dune", interpret "Dune" as you would interpret anything on your own. Or...Just keep enriching the egos and the bank accounts of people who know no more than you.

As much as I like the creative choices in the 2021 movie, I miss the fact that the Harkonnens were noted for their red/bronze hair. It was a very distinct thing of House Harkonnen. It's something that becomes a clue for a later revelation about bloodlines.

The Dune 1 movie was painfully slow -- but so much better than the original. I didn't understand anything in the original Dune except a bunch of weird people doing weird things. Never read any of the books. Worm tooth sword looked pretty cool (somewhat Elven in design). Interesting to have a dream about someone, only to have to kill them later.(Dune 1).

Logic of actors doing a scene like a dance ten times per scene. Regarding how it is like a single system of dance without it seeming like it is not reliving life... Logic of liberal arts including the science of ten times into a story like dune about owning sand.
Logic of finding out about the nine other liberal groups just like them.
Logic of there only being one mechanic group for all of them and the robots and communications are all offline like the machines respond to an external feed unidentifiable... Bordering the land of underground machines planting.

To paraphrase Moneo Atreides, the Baron is a “seeker of sensations” and that the fat was merely a side effect, which became in itself something for him to take pleasure in, “ because it offended people, and he enjoyed offending”

I can't believe it's already been two years since part one. I still think the only way to do Dune is by a series like Game of Thrones. That's the only way to bring the books to life and to respect the depths of the author's work and do it properly. I don't care if it takes 20-50 years to get through all the books. Seriously. But I appreciate these movies greatly. Hopefully I get to see Leto in sandskin surfing the sands of dune superspeed like a super saiyan after all.

They have to label Baron Harkonnen as a general hedonist because they're afraid to tell the truth about his pederasty. He was a man who drugged raped and killed little boys. Put THAT in the movie!

Irulan, notoriously; is a Bene Gesserit of middling potential. A genetic dissapointment.
They speak on her limitations far more often than they speak of her virtues.
She plays the role of a woman spurned, and yet is not allowed the passion of the typical woman scorned.
