Coming from an observer player, if you want to see what a country is doing(like their warscore) but still want the game to continue with them doing AI things. Press the eye on the bottom-right of your map. BE CAREFUL, not the FULL eye, the eye with the hand, cause the full eye is just normal observer mode.
