I just watched a video of a father telling his autistic son not to get too close or touch a Royal Guard as they were trying to take a picture with him. The guard took one step towards the father and son to get in the picture.
Much respect to the guard and I hope he doesn't get into trouble for moving.

What tourists forget, those guardsmen aren't mascots even if they look like but guards, they're not actors but highly trained elite soliders in active duty and theire rifles aren't for show but loaded with live ammunition and ar fire ready.

Last but not least they are allowed to react with lethal force to any attack against the throne and the guard. Btw. touching a guard is considered an attack.

I've seen these guards trampled children and hit women in the name of protecting the queen who is probably a thousand miles away at the time.
