DS9 Garak drinks root beer (The Way of the Warrior)

Jesus. Every scene of DS9 is lightning in a bottle. No pun intended.

That extra music cost you a up vote and then was so bad it created a down vote.

DS9 was at another level compared to other Star Trek series. And scenes like this were at another level for DS9.

First time watching DS9 I didn't like it at all. Took me a while to get it. But once I got it, I was hooked. Have watched the whole series, every season, at least three times.

The only thing wrong with Garak.

What does this scene say about the federation? It seems to back eddington 's criticism about the federation, that they are worst than the borg

Considering that only Americans really seem to like root beer in reality, it's a little odd it's popular even with the humans serving on a space station in the future in a distant star system.

I really love Star Trek, but I also think humans are too inherently vicious to ever achieve anything like the Federation. Nothing's going to ever unite us all.

I do not know if it was intended, but only Americans like root beer. In europe it tastes like medicine. The federation is USA.

heres the thing, root beer is Vile it taste like a mixture of Medicine and liquorice, i dont understand how anyone likes it attall... and why never do Cola? i understand they cant name brands, but cola isnt a brand, its a type of drink.... its far more bubbly, cloying and happy then rootbeer

So as a result of this encounter, root beer takes off in popularity amongst his species come back 100 years later, they are a species with serious, diabetic illnesses and rotten teeth Oopsie

Actually, my philosophy is that if you drink piss long enough; eventually you'll be able to drink it without making a sour face.

Armin Shimerman as Quark is Legendary

I love how Garak is like "Oh, we're shit talking the Federation now? Okay, I'm done shitting on you."

Ah yes, Elim Garak, defector from the Cardassian Secret Sarcastic Order. Able to go from sarcasm to true expression seamlessly. Even beyond his prime he's one of the best.

The recurring characters and focus on non Starfleet characters really made this show special in Star Trek. I like or at least find some things to like with all Trek shows, but no other one but this even tried to give us a little look at the rest of the universe outside of the Federation and Starfleet.

Quark really is the best thing from Deep Space Nine. If the whole point of this version of Star Trek was meant to give more introspective of the characters, it won't be any more honest or true-to-life than a charismatic bartender.

So good. Brilliant writing and acting. “It’s so bubbly, cloying, and happy…”. One small example of why DS9 was such a great (and under rated) show.

I love how Garak looks around to check no-one sees him drinking root beer.

I love root beer but from what i have seen a lot of people in Europe think it is vile, they say it tastes like cough medicine, same thing with Asian people, they say it tastes like medicine.

you know, after careful consideration, i think this might be my favorite scene/interaction in the entirety of star trek canon. followed closely by worf on the defiant saying PREPARE FOR RAMMING SPEED lol

I love the fact there was an episode where Quark DID go into weapons and war profiteering. He was miserable, and everyone hated him for it.
