bro sometimes you can read a pass and play the pass perfectly and still not get the lane steal because defending in fifa 23 sucks. Reading opponents attacking play is never the problem, the games defending commands are the problem

Game is p2w if your defenders are stacked is really hard to break through

You just have to wait or almost do nothing. For example when you’re being countered, do not run to the winger that is about to sweat.. mark the player running through the middle and when the player with the ball comes in the box right away call the gk, while still marking the guy running in the box.. your gk will block the shot or just grab the ball most of the time.

Fifa is a simulation game, there is so much shit that is completely out of your control.
It's the type of game that simply shouldn't be taken seriously.
Just pick your favorite club and play career mode.

Being a pro in a half-staged sports simulation game is a joke.

I can easily defende because I’ve played madden, nhl, mlb the show, tons of sports games before fifa. So I guess I already know the angles and decisions possible. Does anyone else relate?

People always complain about losing in cheesy ways but I’m sure they also win in cheesy ways. The game is fun, there’s never going to be a perfect football game. There are for sure problems but if u have good connection for the most part it isn’t enough to make you quit playing

From a former elite 3 player in fifa (I havent played FUT since fifa 18) the best way to defend is cut off the first obvious pass and force the dribble, then make the tackle. Easier said than done, but If you do it properly then defending becomes pretty simple. The hardest part in the newer fifas is not getting caught out because the defenders change of direction is always terrible

I've been playing against legendary lately, my defending has since then improved by Alot, reading of the game, timing, marking, clearing, everything just got better. I'm still losing but I can see I'm getting better, I defend just like the video says pro players defend

Pro's spend a lot of money on their teams. And if you asked yourself how much money they spent, somewhere between 50-60k! Their players are in any way shape or form better than ours. It's as simple as that. I used to add the top 10 pros to my friends list so that I could try their teams in friendly matches and what can I say, their teams were God like. You didn't have to do much anymore in terms of defending. You could literally feal how op these teams were.

The main reason is their team is stacked , try pressuring with gold defenders , your other defenders AI won’t cover you but if I have TOTY VVD and Flashback Ramos I can go pressure and get away with it because my AI will be marking the other attackers for me . Pay to win is the answer. I’ve been in elite div for a few fifas and there is no skill gap just pay to win
