"You know what's oppressive? Egalitarian economic theory! "

I have a hypothesis about this, actually. I mean, for the people who are rich or think they might be someday, their objections are perfectly sensible. They're wrong, but they follow logically from their self-interest.

I suspect what has turned the working class off of Marxism is what later thinkers did with it. Insofar as you could call Stalin a theorist, he championed an ideal every bit as imperialistic and authoritarian as the capitalists they were in conflict with. And because Stalin was a miserable bastard, his system was miserable. But so is capitalism so... what do?

Capitalist anti-communist propaganda aimed at the masses tended to focus on the nuanced and certainly not privileged position religion played, and the threat of gulag, as well as misplaced footage of empty groceries (which are actually from the 90s, shortly after the fall and the imposition of capitalism).

So anticommunism in the US has its roots primarily in fear of hunger, prison, and not being able to go to church.

Which... that's not communism, it's not a natural result of communism, it's a natural result of a sociopath locking up half the country, genociding half of the remainder by starvation, and being publicly atheist but quietly permissive of religion.

We don't have to repeat the mistakes of old.

Worker need the capitalist more than capitalist need worker. Why? Because of supply and demand balance. Supply of low-skilled workers in quasi-infinite. Supply of high-skilled workers is lower but still much much higher than supply of capitalist.

Does world have the demand for capitalist, you may ask? Yes. Capitalist is not an abstract entity. Its an ex-worker that earned capital by himself or his parents were workers that have passed the generational wealth to him.

So, the capitalist is a person who is 1) have capital 2) have skills to raise an external capital for the capital-intensive business (take loan and/or share equity) 3) have skills to execute on business in a highly competitive environment 3) managed to establish a business without going bankrupt.

All above is a very unique intersection of qualities. Supply is low, demand is high given the size of supply. That’s why business owners and top executives have an outsized income.

That is how humanity function for a very long time. Capitalism is a time-proof economic model. Yes, we see here and there wealthy people who earned outsized capital due to illegal activities like drugs, fraud, corruption, etc. That does not mean that capitalistic model is broken. That means the law enforcement should prevent this from happening.

Prove me wrong.

All this anti marx garbage spewed by the bourgeoisie (often times actual fascists) is to misguide the public to prevent the proletariat from gaining any knowledge of how they're being exploited day after day. It doesn't take a lifetime of study to reach this conclusion. I wish Americans weren't so gullible. I guess the propaganda and education suppression is working. Oh well, we're all going to die of heat stroke soon anyway. Thanks to capitalism's disregard for the Earth.

The problem is that "wokeness" today is a cultural adaptation of Marxist ideology that views society as divided into oppressed and oppressors based on identity, with the goal of a revolution to create a utopian society free from oppression, and seeks to impose restrictions on speech and hiring practices to end oppression. It is the result of adapting Marxist ideas to include culture, influenced by the Frankfurt School's critique of liberal culture as oppressive and dehumanizing, leading to the proposal of liberating tolerance as being intolerant of people on the right and extra tolerant of people on the left.

I think, if the western world were to move towards more and more socialism or communism (whatever you wanna call it), it will pave the way of the success of the Asian world, Eastern world. Western world has hitherto remain the leaders of the world, but that leadership is shacking. The BRICS is challenging western dominance, it won't be long to see it, in my opinion.

Worth pointing out that so many works remained incomplete in Marx’s life because of how active he was as a journalist and political organiser. Opponents will say he never worked a day in his life, but work was a huge part of why his literature was largely published and completed posthumously

The reason that everyone hates marx is because everyone who has ever tried his ideas has caused: genocide, mass starvation, and mass social and political repression. Much like how during the middle ages dozens of 'christian' countries never truly adopted the 'correct' teachings of Jesus, its the same problem with marx. He does have some correct analyses on modern capitalism, but so does every other economic theory AND capitalism itself.

Why is it that Marxist-apologists always attack people for not having read Marx and yet disliking the ideology he has created - and imply it is based on fear* - and yet the same people wouldn't come to the defence of Murray Rothbard? He was, like Marx, a terrible human being with terrible views but has not inspire anywhere near as much carnage and brutality as Marx?

The fact the left always seek to defend Marx and Engels is partly why I don't really associated with them much now... the other main reason is that 90% of leftists I have ever known (and I was a member of many large leftist circles) are hypocritical and at least borderline sociopathic; worst people you can ever know.

Almost 100% of the people I would argue with about what Marx and Engles wrote about don't even realize these men were German. Then you dig into the the conditions they set out for their beliefs. They would never have believed that backwards nations such as Russia and China would become the largest proponents of Communism. The professed structure of the coming revolutions were in well developed countries with complex industrialization and large amounts of capital. Lenin and Mao perverted these ideals in their propaganda to justify grabbing industry and property for themselves and exerting centralized control over their country's. They don't practice communism. It's a veneer of modernization painted upon a resurrection of Absolute Monarchy.

In your bully allegory you are forgetting the crucial detail that Marx wanted to put all the power in the hands of a minority of former bullied people in the naive hope that they wouldn't also become bullies. He was proven wrong over and over, first by common sense, and then very tragically by history.

As much as I love this channel, it's shameful how this video perpetuates the extremely harmful myth that the arch-authoritarian Marx was the first to critique capitalism the way he did. The only thing his analysis may have added was dialectical materialism (and I'm not sure if he was the first socialist thinker in that regard, either), which is at best just one possible lens to look through and at worst not a useful lens at all. There were many thinkers with far more egalitarian, realistic, democratic, scientific ideas and analyses, many of whom came long before Marx, but they're always subjugated in favour of the fatalist who thought a state capitalist dictatorship was a neat idea.
