Have you tried putting all sorts of shreds and threads on your base you made, cover it with a wash away or iron away clear stabilizer and free motioning on top? I’ve seen that done but have t tried it myself yet.
ОтветитьUna maravillosa obra de arte. BrVo
ОтветитьHi can you please repeat the instructions the bottom layer is muslin and then pieces of interfacing and then scraps on top of the interfacing is what you said. So I must be fusible interfacing, not fusible webbing, right
ОтветитьI have a hard time throwing away the tiniest pieces too. They are so much fun to play with. There is no pressure to make something perfect since it is "free" but since it is fun to play with, the results are usually really good.
ОтветитьIf the fabric is and scraps are thin, it could make 'new' fabric to make tops etc?
ОтветитьI love how you tackle a project so bravely! I always say to myself “ oh heck you are going to screw it up” lol
ОтветитьI like it! At first I wasn't really sure about it, but I like looking at it, i use butchers paper. Lay your material down, cover it with an iron cloth, then press. You can trace before or after, then cut. Peel paper back off, place where you want it on your backing and sew. ❤
ОтветитьNice 👍🏾. I also hold on to my scraps 😅
ОтветитьDoesn't make my day...but interesting and needs more thinking.
ОтветитьI use mine to make beautiful fabric twine. It is so colorful and beautiful!
ОтветитьI love this idea however, I do not have nor want to use a seeing machine. Could I still add another medium on top of the first fabrics such as acrylic paints that is maybe mixed in with a light glue? Would the interfacing get ruined and/or still hold with out denigrating? I thought I would get ur opinion first before trying
ОтветитьI'm an 82 year old man who loves creative ideas, especially good ones. My wife does stained glass mosaic stepping stones of meaningful places, things, events, people, pets, etc. I am always fascinated by how the individual pieces of colored glass comes together to make an artistic statement. I can see myself playing with your idea to fit into my woodworking hobby, or as a stand alone hobby creating totally unique pieces of art. Thank you. I loved how it all came together in the end. Nice job.
ОтветитьYou could put a lovely piece of colored organza on top and make a clutch for special occasions use gorgeous varigated threads on top as well. Lots of fun stuff. This is so very fun..😊
ОтветитьYou can put those little pieces in a jar with twinkle lights and use it as a nightlight.
ОтветитьI love fabric too. I think this is a neato idea, imma start doing this cuz I keep my scraps, now I'm gonna even save the tinny tiny ones. Thanks for the idea. 😊
ОтветитьI’m aware people keep their scraps to use and not waste but that tiny piece at the beginning with the little star was ridiculous 😂😂😂😂
Using the iron on stuff was a brilliant idea to fuse the scraps to the block! It looks so cool, but I think it is somewhat insane that you keep tiny offcuts of the iron on fusing 🤪
It’s giving Alice in under land vibes! 😂, Make a quilt and you should iron on a Cheshire Cat! 😂😂😂😂
You can save the tiny pieces and strings + thread scraps to use as stuffing for stuffed animals.
ОтветитьI like what you are doing, but I think if you use a thin piece of mesh over the scraps it would hold them together better
ОтветитьI can see doing this directly to the front and back of a denim shirt, jacket, or vest.
ОтветитьThis is fantastic.
ОтветитьI like this!!!🙂
ОтветитьI'd just put that in a frame and hang in my home!
ОтветитьThis is awesome!! I never throw away scraps of any kind, they always find their way somewhere! I've used the solvent glue based bags (not sure what you'd call it) to layer scraps in and embroider over by hand or if you have a nice old machine that lets you do freehand embroidery with a hoop to create layers with - wash out after with warm water to remove the glue part and dry then keep adding to the piece to your liking. Thank you for sharing!
ОтветитьMaking a jigsaw quilt
ОтветитьSo darn cool !!!
ОтветитьThis would be such a cool material to make a jacket out of 😮
ОтветитьThanks for giving this lovely idia beautiful gift 🎁 ❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьRight off the bat I tght of framing. Great video!!😊
ОтветитьIt would be awesome to use them with an attic window block.
ОтветитьI just love it,very shabby chic I do something similar....very interesting....thanks
ОтветитьHave you tried using free motion to add the little bits and pieces? Much easier to move around the top.
ОтветитьI love it! I think three hanging vertically together would make an awesome piece of wall art! No one ever said sewing was very clean, I always make a mess! Creatives can be messy😂
ОтветитьI love to watch you experiment and create lovely things, sometimes they might not be "pretty" but they sure are "interesting"....thanks
ОтветитьHolaaaaaa, buenísimo, pone subtitulos en español, gracias😘
ОтветитьI use mine in homemade paper ❤️
ОтветитьPlace tree branches over that and more green strips of material for grass and perhaps some brown pieces for rocks and hand embroidery for flowers or fences.
ОтветитьCool. Your new fabric looks very miro+pollock. I would love to see your viewers' works. It would make you a good portfolio if we could add pics.
ОтветитьMakes great bags and boxes.
ОтветитьLike this technique! I’m going to try it on a piece of batting (or 2!), cut some fabric squares that are larger and free motion quilt them together. Add a strap and a zipper and sew it closed on the “outside” with the raw edge hanging out. Trim or use the raw edge for Bling 🤩 Nice little bag.
Also, keeping the muslin or batting in with the little bits would make it easy to grab and work on a little each time you sit down to sew rather than making it a huge project to try to finish!
I love making my own textiles! Thank you for the great idea!
I cover with tule and sew free motion over it. I’ve made book cover or base for art work etc
ОтветитьI have been doing this for a long time, creating new fabric from tiny scraps I hate to throw away. I do the same with my thread snippets from my machine
ОтветитьI do the same thing but I just scatter the itsy bit scraps including snips of threads around then I add a top layer of fine mesh on top then I sew it all at once. May help speed up your time. I think yours looks fantastic and I can't throw scraps of anything away. Yarn and ribbon scraps can be added as well. Oh this was a year ago I hope you haven't been throwing scraps away.
ОтветитьI like your style - free and flowing - I think I will be experimenting.
Ответить💕👍good idea to utilize that stuff about which people think its useless. Stay blessed👏
ОтветитьI used my scraps to make Bible covers and they turned amazing.
ОтветитьEmotions are fine but How much current bill do you get or energy you waste doing such thing?Making pet beds is an easy solution
ОтветитьGood on You.
Fabric and yarns (and their dyes) as scrap in a landfill will be there longer than the lifetime our favourite-cannot-ever-throw-away garment we have those scraps came from in the first place. It's good to find another who strives to leave less a dent.
Fabric uses, pillow, frame, save the pieces. Great job. Artwork is perfect.
