The ONLY 3 Lenses You Need for Sony a6700, FX30, ZV-E10, & a6000 Series!

Thanks for the review, what would you recommend as a starter lens for the a6700 primarily photos/videos for traveling (landscapes/portrait).

Please what lens do you recommend, for this camera. The goal is to create content and photograph the family.

Jason Vong, great video! I hope you can answer my question, we are planing to buy the Sony a6700. We do mostly geocaching videos (as you can check on our channel, with some close ups and sometimes low light environment, as well as landscapes on the b-roll). Do you recommend us the Sony 11mm F1.8 Lens for the a6700? It's ultrawide, so I'm afraid to get that Eye Fish effect, that's something not acceptable for us, as we want to make our videos more cinematic. What's your opinion? Thank you.

What do you think of the Tamron 17-70mm f2.8?

Would you swap out the Sony 11mm for the sigma 10-18 f2.8? How bout the sigma 70-200 f2.8 for telephoto?

Hi, are Tamron lenses comparable to Sigma; I don't hear as much praise about Tamron. I planning on getting an A6700 body an Tamron lenses run less in price. Thx! 😊

Today i would swap the Sony 11 F1.8 for the Sigma 10-18 F2.8 and the Sigma 18-50 F2.8 for the Tamron 17-70 F2.8. Yes, the sony 11 is sharper and has faster aperture than the Sigma 10-18, but you are covering more wide angle range wich is extremely versatile. Only having 11 mm is a bit restricting. And yes, the Tamron 17-70 is bigger, heavier and little bit more expensive than the Sigma 18-50, but it has more zoom-range on both ends, fills the gap between 50-70mm and has image stabilisation, wich is a big deal, especially on all the Sony APSC cameras without IBIS. Also i feel the Tamron is a bit sharper than the Sigma but that might be only my subjective feeling (tested both). Nothing wrong with 70-350 though, best Tele-Lens on APSC.

I've gone for the Sigma 18-50 and Sony 70-350 with A6700. The third lens is a Tamron 11-20 2.8 but have just bought the Sony 20mm to try out.
Love the 10L Peak Design Sling too.

Im gonna rope the 6700 up with a 24-70 2.8 GM and see what happens...

Thank you. Picked up an A6700 to augment my full frame Sony bodies so wanted to watch this but went slightly differently with new updates. Have the Sigma 18-50/2.8 and just got a Sony 70-350/4.5-6.3 both in mint used condition. Also did get a Sony 15/1.5 G because 11/1.8 is too wide for me as a prime and will use this more. Also pre-ordered the new Sigma 10-18/2.8 to pair with its mid focal range brother. Did pick up some of the other Sigma DC DN Contemporary primes for special usage but probably won’t travel with them. Great supplement to my full frame kit.

Not sure why I’d buy a Sony 70-350 when the Tamron 70-180 is almost the same size and weight but gives you the f/2.8? I’d rather have the low light/bokeh over the extra length and the image quality is so much better.

I went to Japan for my holiday in March 2023. Before that I owned the Sony 16-55 2.8 since 2019. I love its image quality and the focus hold button and the AF/MF switch on the lens. I also owned the Sony Zeiss 16-70 F4, 10-18 F4 and the Sigma 16 1.4. From my experience of my many past trips, I use the 16-70 lens 80% of the time but the F4 aperature is inadequate in many occasions especially night shots, inside restaurants, hotels and museums etc.
After watching this video, I bought the Sony 11 1.8 and paired with my 16-55 2.8 to go with my trip. The gap between 11mm and 16mm focal length of these two lenses can be made up by using Clear Image Zoom from the camera. This 2 lenses travel combo turned up to be an enjoyable experience and met my travel photography needs.
As for the Sigma 16 1.4, I owned it for a few years. Althought it is a cheap but high quality lens, it is too big and heavy. I only used it for a few times because I hate carrying it whole day in my bag. Recently, I sold it and bought the Sony 15 1.4. I love its small size, light weight, aperture ring etc. After I used it for the first time for taking street photos, I love it so much that I have been using it for all my recent street photos sessions. I usually paired it with my Sony Zeiss 24 1.8 or my Leica 35 F2 on a Leica M10 body.

Hey i bought a Sony a6700 and the 3 contemporary lens (16-23-56mm lenses ) and i have problem using does lenses , my camara sometimes when i am shooting stills the shutter stay open like long exposure , speak for us that have this camera and need a new firmware update, thank you

I wanted both prime and zoom, but since the a6700 is sooo expensive, I don't think I am able to afford both.

How does the 70-350mm fair in comparison to other G quality lenses, do you think it deserved that G or is the aperture hurting it too much ? Thanks

Wait! How can this video be a year old? The a6700 only just came out a few months ago.

I would change out the signa 16-50mm for the tamron 17-70mm because of the longer reach but also because of the built in stabilization 👍 also... I would trade out the wide prime for a wide zoom. Mostly for the Sony 10-18mm f4 OSS.... This way i would have covered 10mm all the way up to 350mm with stabilization. And no gapes in the range 👍🙂

The alternative and for still photographers often better choice, for the 70-350, is the Tamron 18-300mm.

Is f2.8 on an APS-C camera good enough for low light photography?

I use Tamron 11-20F2.8 + Sony 16-55G + Sony 70-350G lens to cover an extremely wide focal length for my a6600 travel kit. I'll bring the 70-350 only when I know I need that long focal length for the day.

I then bring along primes according to the situation, such as the Sony 15F1.4G lens, Sony Zeiss 24mmF1.8 and the Sigma 56F1.4.

I'm a new ZVE-10 owner, The Tamron 17-70 can be used with it right? Essentially all the lenses discussed can be used with the ZVE-10? Plz confirm this

A couple of amazon reviews of the Crane M3 gimbal say that the audio recording wires connecting to the gimbal don't work. Have you tried this?

I'm a Sony full frame user for many years. I currently shoot with the a7rV and I want a light camera to travel around with. I'm waiting for the a7cii but it has not even been announced yet. So I'm considering the a6700. I want a compact size to travel and walk around with. All 7 lenses that I own are full frame glass. I'm considering the a6700 but the thought of having to replace all the lenses with aps-c lenses kills me. I'm retired and I don't want to break the bank. What do you think of full frame lenses on the a6700? or should I just wait for the a7cii?? Thanks for your advice. Your fan, Jerry.

I think for travel the full frame 70-300 from Tamron (at a lot less weight and half the cost of the Sony) makes the most sense for most (APS-C or full-frame shooters). I sold my 70-300 G for the Tamron, and see little if any difference in image quality. I sold it for the weight difference. Of course for those who want stabilization, that's different. I'm using the Tamron now with an FX30 BTW.

I just bought an a6600 with the Sigma 18-50 as my first camera and wow is it an incredible combo. The Sigma really is amazingly versatile and so much more compact than the Tamron 17-70 I was weighing against it in my decision process. The next one I’ll get is the Sony 11mm and then save up for the 70-350. Thanks!

There is no worthwhile telezoom for Sony APSC. Sure the 70-350 has range but the apperture is utter trash. If Sony refuses to make a propper telezoom there's two option: live with the cheap 55-210 or put Sony APSC to rest as clearly they do not care about it other than muh vlogger garbage.

Sigma 16mm f1.4 + Sony 18-105 f4 for me

I use an a6000 and 55-210mm kit sony lens and I just can't auto focus, it will only sharpen lets say the eye of the bird and none of the feathers. I also as a result manual focus and lose my shot half the time as bird has flown away. How is the a6400 with the 70-350mm focus and the sharpess of getting the whole body of a bird?

Yeah to these 3 lens choices but my additional lens could well as the Sony E 50mm f1.8 as my solitary indoor studio lens

Assuming the backpack you talked about is the 15l, in which the crane m2 (and m2s) fits perfectly, does the crane m3 fit too on the sides? I'm considering upgrading my M2 to either the M3, the m2s or the DJI RS3 mini and fitting in that backpack is a very important part of the decision
