I must have one upper rear molar extracted because the tooth shattered, and I cannot believe what two dentists have quoted for implants. Even with my insurance the cost is obscene, and the quote they gave me resembled paperwork I had to sign when closing for my mortgage. I’m just going to leave the space empty and see what happens. I don’t know how dentistry has become so unaffordable, but here we are.

Fixed bridges need very proactive Hygiene (flossing, mouthwash, periodic dental cleanings) but in order for Implants to be successful they also need same.

I did this but the new dental bridge seems odd in my mouth. The teeth was not correctly cut to balance the height I guess. So what to do in such case? I feel so discomfortable with it.

Im missing both my 2nd premolars upper and i have a slight over bite so i think braces should be a good option for me to try. I tried dental implants and the dentist refunded me begged me not to sue her and i didnt but was the worst dental surgery of my life!! I rather try braces then anything invasive ever again.

Has anyone read the graphic novel Smile by Raina Telgemeier? The author based it on her real life orthodontic experience. She lost her 2 front teeth in an accident as a kid and ended up bringing the rest of her teeth in toward the center to fill the gap using braces.

In April 2022 my dentist ( on an emergency basis only) pulled the of my top FRONT teeth. And I was to return after two weeks to pull more. The v visit was very painful and traumatic for me. I went two weeks later and they refused to pull them because my b.p. Was high. I told her is Always High. She didn't think that the trauma of the previous visit might be a factor for my bp being elated. She wanted me tiki go see my primary to get on h high blood pressure need. I too various meds since 1992! And my bp was always high anyways. Non of my remaining teeth line up so I'm basically swallowing my food whole. Not to mention the remaining teeth are breaking leaving excised needed. That's the only dentist in our town that accepts Medicaid. I'm at a loss as to what I should do. I want implant but I'm on ssdi so there's way it's ever be able to save for them. Do you have any suggestions? Sorry for the length of this. Thank you. Peggy

when I see what they charge for something that is normal treatment, let alone if you have something special
with us it is partly in healthcare but not the special cases, well open your wallet if it is up to them
they also suggested implants to me, but then I first had to undergo a rib operation to place this in my jaw and then the question was whether that was enough
so think carefully about what you are willing to pay for this

I find the dental technician has no idea how to make dentures for implants.. Needs to be artistic and the thick gums are horrible.. It's just a job for money for them.. They're mass produced..

My dentist ruined my tooth and I have a missing tooth it’s been a couple of years and I’ve developed tmj and it’s causing facial collapse! I really want to do something about it. I don’t want to get an implant because I don’t want my jaw drilled in with metal I don’t believe it’s a good option. I also heard from friends that they get loose after a few years and they regret getting it. With all the technology these options seem so outdated and the pricing is ridiculous.

I went to Clear Choice for a single molar implant. They do all the work in house and I was told the prices are not as bad. It was like going in to a car dealership. Oh, and the cost for a single implant is $6500! I live on SSI and a small pension. No way. Thx USA for taking care of your seniors.

I was suppose to get an implant but apparently "I don't have the right bone" drilled 2 screws in my mouth for nothing. Now Doc is saying that he gotta shave 2 perfectly good teeth for a bridge. I don't like that idea 1 bit. I'm just gonna go on with missing teeth. Luckily, the missing teeth are not seen when I smile. So nobody will ever notice.

Dental implants are too expensive. I wanted to have some crowns replaced with implants and some veneers on my top 4 teeth. The cost was overwhelming and unaffordable.

Then there’s me, multiple missing teeth in a few spots. Other teeth that need pulled. Currently have half a tooth on the lower left of my jaw and that’s it. Eating is a struggle but dentistry is incredibly expensive and hard to find a good one.

Implants are insanely expensive... I have one and working on another.. both are bottom molars on each side. Not covered by most insurances so be prepared to pay 5 to 7 thousand. Its made me do everything I can to not lose anymore teeth. And the process is not fun. I am dreading having to go through this process again. But, when it's all said and done . It's like having a new tooth. No bridge hassles.
