Really love your ace attorney retrospective videos. I watched them all individually before so this is my second run and im always amazed with them. I know youre doing the apollo justice retrospectives (gonna watch them myself once i beat the game!) Im really hoping/looking forward to your take on TGAA as i think its the best games in the series ♡

honestly, most of the criticism were very nitpicky for me (as a casual fan of the series), but i guess that's just what happens when you really love a piece of media; it's like a friend ranting about all the things they hate in a show/game/book/comic/etc, and they'll say that they love it in the end (very guilty of this)

I love your thoughts, and especially your defense of my girl Franzy, and I can't wait to hear about... your thoughts on Blackquill, too, honestly. It's... I'm always astounded by people hating on Franziska but loving Blackquill when I feel like they just have a lot of common points. They're rough and a bit brusque, cryptic even, but they so dearly love the people close to them and they're willing to put themselves on the line for that. They're my favorite prosecutors in their respective games, and I would genuinely love to see them interact. I also think it would be sort of hilarious if Ema was working with Simon, a real contrast of expectation versus reality there, where there's some idea that she's going to get the Twisted Samurai, and instead he gives her a well deserved break and a salary increase...

I always thought we never learned Iris real name because in the end, ever since she was little she lived in the temple, she had no real connection to her real family othe than her sister, and it wasn't a good one

Something about Recipe for Turnabout is that the "themes" of doppelgängers fits surprisingly good with the rest of the game. It's incredibly fitting even if filler
I heard people say that the theme of having to get a retrial fits better with Justic for All with "what does it mean to be an attorney" however I don't know. Having a wrong sentence for Maggey wasn't Phoenix's fault. He was impersonated, it would sully the themes of Justice for All in my opinion

I think the circus case issue could have worked as a joke about circus people being weird. With the doll actually be the one who is in love with Regina and Maximilian being threated like a creep but who really not murdered someone. Maybe we could even turn this around and one point with him admiting that he treated Regina like another groupie not like the innocent girl she still is.
Or even make the joke be that Maximilian is such a * that he not even is aware of the age of his co workers and just saw "another cutie. This is mine!" Having him have a small breakdown once he realized how far attached from human decency he has become.

Frankly I dont think youre being a Franziska apologist superfan at all xDD. When I first played the games (I was a late teen playing it ....'perfectly legally') , I was too young to notice Franziska's subtle changes as we move through the second game. But I did notice she was definitely much more helpful at TnT. She isnt being unhelpful for vengeance and actually did banter with Phoenix as she investigates with him. She definitely changed and chose not to be like her father at all to me XD.

Funny enough, that scene of Edgeworths "no concern to me", bought him a whole bunch of brownie points with me when I first played. By this point Edgeworth knows something else is going on on phoenix's end, and that it has something to do with Maya. We at this point have done everything to stretch this trial out, but does Phoenix have what it takes to push an already hurting woman potentially off the ledge?

I always saw that scene as Edgeworth stepping in to take that choice off Phoenix's shoulders. Edgeworth will be the villian, so long as the truth can come out.

Actually I hate Meekins cause of that accursed stereo screech that he sirens in that one animation. Oh my god that sound HURTS my ears

everyone is pitching about this video being too long while it's presented perfectly and covered the subject in all of its corners, it's a huge commodity that you can listen and watch an essay instead of reading it and the literature might not be as clear as these kinds of videos. all I'm saying is a little appreciation wouldn't harm anyone!

ok here me out, im going to defend the use of amnesia in the lost turnabout
in regards to how the amnesia comes and goes, im actually fine with that because to me, even if something is “unrealistic” im willing to overlook it for the sake of the the story and pacing, especially since ace attorney isnt like a medical drama or anything, but i know not everyone agrees with me on that which is fine. but besides that, this series has established phoenix is simply built different, so im willing to believe if anyone could regain his memories after being hit with a fire extinguisher, its him. i’d also be a hypocrite if i hated the amnesia in this case when some of my favorite cases later in the series use amnesia (which i don’t wanna list here in case they’re spoilers, maybe in the comments)
in regards to how phoenix’s amnesia is used, i personally view it as an interesting way to re-tutorialize the mechanics, which the crew thankfully decided should just be a one and done. i also think it plays into the theme of phoenix’s identity, especially as you mentioned, how richard wellington’s words end up coming back at the end of the game.
while i dont think the case is all to uh, important or memorable, i dont think the amnesia is AS bad as people make it out to be, at least in my opinion. its kinda similar to my thoughts on 3-3, and how they both focus on phoenix’s character, and while being kinda mediocre, im willing to overlook it because it’s hilarious

Re: Dahlia convincing her dad to abandon Iris, if there's any merit to it, there's something to be said about her wanting to get Iris away from their dad, and/or get her to stay with Sister Bikini. As someone with a rough childhood, I spent a good chunk of my early life trying to protect my siblings from my parents, and I could see Dahlia trying to do the same if she's seen any chance at a fresh start for her sister.

I don't have the ability to put it into words quite like I'd want to but your videos are so beautifully crafted. Your honest critique, your praise, the voice acting, editing, everything. All of it.
