Baldur's Gate 3 Bard Build Guide - Early Game Bard Builds (Including Multiclassing)

I wish for the first build you went into more detail on what you should chose when creating your character such as can trips, spells, etc..

Time to reclass astarion(thief/bard) and wyll(bardlock) and build the most charismatic band that ever performed across baldurs gate

Life Domain Cleric 1/Sorcerer 3/ Lore Bard 8. Twin Haste and then focus on healing. Help with Cantrip like Fire Bolt now and then. Start with Sorcerer for Constitution Saving Throw. Support build.

Would 1 sorc (white draconic), 6 Bard (college of swords) and 5 fighter work ? Half elf or full Drow work?

Wrong suggestion. Humans are skilled at shields.

How bout starting barb and then necromancy

for bard/thief could i still focus on mainly using a long bow instead of melee or would that not be as good? im half wood elf if that matters at all. Also im already a lvl2 bard, if i wanted to switch to paladin when would be the right time to do that?

I'm still early in; but started my char off as a human fighter, then multiclassed into bard at level 3.

I'm doing a college of lore bard/archfey warlock melee build rn with fey presence, phalar aluve's singing or shrieking, dissonant whispers, etc. Just simply great stuff. I need to prune my build little by little, replace some spells I honestly am just not using, but other than that it's a melee debuff terror inside combat and a wonderful skill monkey outside.

In tactician mode are enemies really dumb enough to run into the darkness spell? I would assume they would do the opposite and run out of it asap.

A major difference in lore bards in BG3 from 5e is their take on cutting words. In 5e, CW affects attack rolls, ability checks and damage rolls. In BG3 however, it doesn't work on damage rolls, instead it works on saves. Big thing as you can now turn skin-of-the-teeth saves into fails!! Very reliable debuffer along with divination wizards and wild magic sorcerers!

Question: If I'm going to do a bardlock (first 3 levels as a bard than warlock), am I going to lose the utility part of a Bard? like lockpicking for example. Because I don't want to recruit Astarion in my party 😅

Bard lvl 4, Sorcerer lvl 4 and Rogue(thief) lvl 4 is an absurd support combo. Sorcerer at lvl 4 gives you 4 sorcery points which can be used to extend or twin cast spells, with the former being good for cc and latter being good for healing 2 or using cc that can now target 2 people instead of 1 for just the cost of just 1 spell slot and 1 sorcery point. Can also twin cast vicious mockery and other cantrips. So as an example, with this combo you can use vicious mockery on 2 enemies followed by twin casting 2 healing word meaning you can heal all 4 party members, all in 1 turn or maybe 1 twin cast healing word and 1 bardic inspiration, etc.

You dont need them all at lvl 4 but I picked that lvl since it gives you feats. Can drop 1 lvl from rogue and put it into bard for resetting bardic inspiration at lvl 5 if that is your preference. Can also drop 2 lvls from sorcerer(just need lvl 2 sorcerer for metamagic, this lvl also gives you 3 sorcery points) and put it into warlock so you get 2 warlock spell slots and 2 eldritch invocations. The 2 warlock spell slots can be sacrificed before short rest if you have any for more sorcery points, effectively allowing you to reset bardic inspiration and 2 sorcery points per short rest. All of this would look like this basically: Bard 5. Thief 3. Sorcerer 2. Warlock 2.

Hi, a lot of questions. Múltiplas looks a lot of fun. But I would like to have a charismatic char so I think lock of full bard is the way to go. But if I have wyll at the party why have to locks? Switch wyll with gale or go full bard?

Sadly, college of valor is bugged after level 5 so I would recommend just playing college of lore.

I'm playing a Swords Bard right now, and it really feels like having 2 classes in 1. I can go an entire fight using blade flourishes dishing out melee and ranged damage, and after a short rest i have all of my inspiration charges back AND i still have all of my spells! And there are some great magic items for characters that combine spells and weapon attacks

the bard is strong in Support and as skill monkey / face of the group.

then choose from these:
1lv dip
Fighter - fighting style, armor/weapon proficiency, con-saves
Cleric - life (better healing) or knowledge (more Expertise), Medium Armor/shield
Rouge - Skill Proficiency and Expertise
Wizard - Spell Scribing

2 lv dip
Warlock - Eldritch Blast
Paladin - Fighting style, armor/weapon proficiency, Divine Smites

As Race I have Wood Elf for the proficiency of Longbow, stealth and perception

Question, Bard first or Thief first? That is the build I have been playing. I'm having a hard time deciding what to do at respec. Seems to me Bard, but feedback is very welcome. Been playing as Thief. I'm very early on in my playthrough.

Kinda want to dip 3 into wild sorc on my Lore Bard after 6 the wild magic chaos and the metamagic seems like it could make some fun interactions with bards kit

Are we sure that Duelling does not work with Versatile weapons?? I keep seeing people say it does.

I have a hard time getting into this game. You can only do your class skills /spells like once or twice now you need to long rest. Like...wtf is that.

Question: What's the difference in multiclassing when starting off with a particular class over another if you're just gonna run both? It was mentioned at the end of the video and I've encountered a little bit of it. I multiclassed Wyll into Paladin thinking I'll get heavy armor proficiency as soon as I take 1st level paladin but thats not the case. So do I just lose out on starting proficiencies or is there more?
