Book of Daniel Summary: A Complete Animated Overview

I am right now studying for a bible quiz and this video made me understand the book of Daniel

Doesn’t the D in Daniel here look like the D in Dr. Seuss?

I’m so confused about Daniel 9. I just read it and it doesn’t say anything like that. Daniel is repenting for Israel’s sins and an angel appears to him and declares to him a prophecy on the coming and cutting off of the messiah. Where does it say anything about the exile being extended?

I’m confused. This says Daniel was told by an angel that exilé would last 490 years longer, but it didn’t. Exile was only 70 years. And I can’t find any sources saying otherwise. Wasn’t the angel saying the 70 years was a punishment for 490 years of neglect? Not that it would last 490 years?

Really love ur videos thank u so much for posting. The ram and the goat however represent the middle two beasts (the bear with the ribs and the leopard who 4 heads) not the great and terrible beast. The ram has 2 horns as it was two kingdoms of power medo-and Persia. Persia under Cyrus was the greater kingdom (on the military side of things) hence why they were he larger horn that reigned last. The one large horn of the goat represents Greece (Alexander the great) and when that horn broke off it meant that he died. The prophecy then states that from that 1 horn came up 4 others which represent the 4 generals of Alexander the Great which divided the kingdom (Antigonus, Cassander, Ptolemy, and Seleucus).

This is where I think it can get confusing in English and I can see why you believed that the great horn came up out of the goat because it says “Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven. 9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.” It is not referring to Greece (the goat) as there are 4 beasts in chapter 7 not 3. Greece also doesn’t fit the timeline of events as mentioned below concerning how many kingdoms it has, as well as its relation to the terrible beast & the harlot in revelation.


Verse 9 comes back to the terrible beast in chapter 7 which had 10 horns (10 kingdoms) also represented by the legs of iron which latter becomes part iron and part clay. Of the 10 kingdoms, 3 were plucked out by a little horn. These kingdoms were the Ostrogoths, the Heruli, and the Vandals. In all the prophecy of the legs of iron represent pagan Rome which later turns to papal Rome in part iron part clay where a description is made that as iron doesn’t mingle with clay, neither will Europe ever come under 1 ruler again.

The little horn is said to wax exceeding great all over the world and have power. He blasphemes the name of the Lord, and speaks against the saints and the Son of Man. Revelation states that this beast receives a deadly wound but heals himself and the world marvels after the beast and his image and receive his mark (666). This refers to the unity between the state and church. The only group and title that follows along with these descriptions through history is the Roman Catholic Church and the pope.

The beats is also described with a harlot wearing scarlet and purple and is called Babylon. She also sits on 7 mountains being the infamous 7 hills of Rome. The papacy is the only church that currently is going round and making deals with presidents. In reference to the deadly wound, Daniel states that he is to reign for a time, and times, and half a time. Which equals 1260 days which is 1260 prophetic years. (Time - 360 d, times-720 d, 1/2 time - 180 d) this started in 538 AD and the beast received the deadly wound in 1798 AD, the day that the pope was captured by napoleon.

In reference to 666, it refers to worship, that opposing what God has asked for. The pope is titled vicarius filii dei, which when put into Roman numerals, the letters correspond to 666 in which with his ‘authority as a substitute for God’ changes worship. God clearly states in His word “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:” The pope for years now has claimed to have changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday claiming that God has done away the law. How can we say that such a thing is true? He has changed the 10 commandments which are the character of God and God says He has never changed, He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.


Going onto chapter 9, when you states that the exile goes on 7 times longer due to sin is also a bit of a misunderstanding. “Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
The 70 weeks (not years although yes they were exiled for 70 years is different. The start of the chapter talks about the exile but when Gabriel arrives, it’s speaking about when Jesus is to return). 490 years time from the command to rebuild Jerusalem is a time (you could say probationary time) for Israel as a nation. This time frame ended in 34AD where AS A NATION, the Jews were rejected and the gospel was really spread amongst the gentiles. The following verses explain “Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.” This means that of the 70 weeks (490 years) 69 weeks (483 years) at the start of it, the Messiah will be anointed which was 27Ad, Jesus’ baptism. In the middle of the week (3 and a half years later), He was cut off (killed) for humanity. 3 and a half years later was when Stephen was stoned.

Hope this makes sense :). It can be really confusing sometimes because of the lack of meaning found in the English language. God bless you guys for using your talents to spread the gospel :)

This doesn't make sense because Daniel was told to seal the book for the end times and that the visions were for those living in the last age. So I think that makes it obvious that the visions were for future events, maybe even further than this generation..
