Therefore, I would like to add a correction about using Japan as an example of people being historically connected to a certain piece of land: the Yamato were a clan that achieved rule over the central part of the biggest island Honshu around the 6-7th century (on the Christian timeline). They postulated their devine descent as a means to establish their power. This was reinforced during the Meiji period from 1868 onwards, and the idea of the Japanese as a homogeneous ethnicity was going hand in hand with the creation of Japan as a nation state at that time. We still see this today in the Tenno emperor and Shinto religion.
In recent writings of history, the influence of Indian, Mongolian, Siberian, Korean and Chinese etc DNA and culture on Japan over the centuries is often also denied, as both are seen as inferior today by many through the narrative of being ethnically homogeneous (and superior). Same with the people in the North of Honshu, they were seen as wilds until the 17-18th century. During the Meiji period in the 19th century, Japan also annexed the Ryukyu kingdom (Okinawa archipelago) and Ainu territories (Hokkaido). So if we look at the map of Japan today, it has nothing to do with a people that were connected to this piece of land, and they way Japanese history is written nowadays often denies the ethnic and intercultural pathways that led to its existence as it is today.

But my social media, the only one I am on because it has freedom of speech, is censored in Israel, I cannot access it, it's blocked. Many other web sites and You Tubes I ordinarily watch elsewhere are also blocked or censored here. None of these websites are violent, anti-Semitic, pornographic or in any other way indecent. My social media site is owned and run by an American Christian man. Strangely enough even in my own western country, some videos and sites are also blocked in public places with free WIFI if anything negative is said in them about Israel, even if it is true and in the public interest to know and in my own home I can watch freely.
