so while the submarine is in combat, do they just keep cooking or do they do some other shit? what if they are in combat/evading depth charged so long that they stop cooking meals?

I'm impressed with the food quality. I usually only pay attention to the weapons systems and war executions but wow this was cool.

Women should take note and cook for the family. I have yet to understand why women don't understand how vital a good home cooked meal is to a family.

People walk up and say to people the military. Thank you for your service. And they’re thinking somebody who’s only job is to make meatballs.

That is the thing about the Navy and being at sea 6 or more months per year.
You know you can count on very sumptuous meals 3 times per day and you
will get to eat all you need to get full. What sucks is that U.S. sailors are not
allowed a beer allowance each day, like the British Navy. Their aircraft carriers
have a bar on board and sailors are allowed a certain amount of beer per day.

There is some real misinformation in this. We had regular ovens, convections ovens and coppers. They even show cooking on a griddle, ovens and deep fryers. A very poorly researched and written article.

I wouldn’t sit around and play cards if there was a woman there I would be sweet, talking her and giving her the old finger blast. That would be a hell of a lot more fun than playing cribbage.

One of my favorite memories was gettin toqitos for breakfast at 4 in the morning from a mobile kitchen in the middle of God forsaken fort Polk Louisiana, and one of my worst was being handed a chunk of egg that resembled a yellow brick more then eggs at that same training exercise roughly 8 days later
