The rockets where playing todays game with how they shot the three ball , and were very efficient. One of the few teams who could play in any era 🚀

Those two Rockets Championships, Olajuwon dominated against other dominant Centers of the time in the Playoffs, like Patrick Ewing in the 93-94 Finals, David Robinson in the 94-95 Western Conference Finals, and Shaquille O'Neal in the 94-95 Finals. He was one of my favorite players back then, and in my opinion, one of the all-time greatest Centers that constantly gets overlooked.

With respect to Jokic if he can dominate today's NBA Hakeem can also do it in today's era

Shaq can’t win dunking all day, he had no mid range or fade, that’s why he needed stone cold killas like Kobe and wade to hit those difficult contested shots that he was not capable of

Olajuwon is arguably the Greatest center ever, but he swept a young Shaq and prime Shaq is the most dominant force we have ever seen. Hakeem would have major problems trying to guard Prime Shaq!!!

Those Handcheck, no 3 seconds rule and the call for travel are exactly what makes the player great during that era,
it makes scoring so tough compared to the frequent carry and travel we see nowadays

Credit to HOH for not using a clickbait title for what was indeed a duel between two all-time greats. A seasoned, savvy Hakeem vs a young but scarily dominant Shaq.

Hakeem's foot work is similar to Jordan's and kobe's. I don't know who started it though him or mj.

Shaq defends really poorly, he doesnt press on Olajuwon when he has the ball.
Olajuwon can post like in training, he doesn't have pressure at all, the only thing that disturb him is doubling him when he has the ball in post but that's really poor defense from Shaq who could really disturb him physically with his weight.

Hakeem with his all timer defense, all timer post foot work, great range of moves and shots and Shaq with his size and uncalled offensive fouls. A battle for the ages!

my all time 5-man team with Defense and fit:
1. Curry
2. MJ
3. Kawhi
4. Duncan
5. Hakeem

anyone listing two of MJ-Kobe-Lebron in a single team are your average nephews who were born just yesterday.

3-0 Houston before this game. Robert Horry would win a 3rd NBA crown with San Antonio(who was defeated 4-2 in WCF before meeting Orlando) in 1999. Hakeem made up for a 1986 final that went to Boston with 2 NBA titles(1994,95)...
