im sorry but genuinely i think these are just friendly. i think they're great friends who have an inseparable bond because of everything they've gone through together. tracer teasing them is probably just cuz that's how tracer is (especially cuz genji and angela are so close). tbh you guys are just looking at this with your heart glasses on.

This video is my comfort video. I still think gency is definitely happening, I think the head writer would be fired if they tried to retcon over five years worth of lore in a game that you can’t really “unpublish”, especially since in the loverwatch event it’s implied you’re playing as genji, and for genji you’re playing from the perspective of mercy. They make nods to long standing community jokes about genji and dinosaur chicken nuggets (if you know you know lmao), and you tolerating her coffee (which only genji can, supposedly so ya know). I think that the cutscene where they asked why they ever stopped writing each other which many labeled an “argument” between them, was probably because ya know, any overwatch activity was considered *highly fucking illegal*, which would include writing each other. They both probably got warned by some government agency that was watching their movements to stop. Besides, genji’s character doesn’t lend itself well to a person who would un ironically say that a friend or lovers artwork is horrible, or even suggest that they themselves are a horrible friend or a liar outside of a joke. This is the same man who says “my greatest enemy, defeated” when he kills another genji like he’s overcome an obstacle he previously thought insurmountable. And mercy sounds so wistful, like she wishes they had never even stopped writing in the first place. They have that conversation with such comfort and ease. There’s no hint of resentment towards each other in their tones, it just sounds like they’re wearing a smile on their faces as they talk.

I don’t know. I just wish they’d come out and confirm it already, and I don’t at all like the pharah mercy scheme they seem to be hinting at. It’s a forced ship that just doesn’t work whichever way you spin it. And I think if they did force pharmercy, it might actually get the game cancelled cuz it kinda pushes the narrative that queer people are groomers and that just… isn’t what anyone needs at the moment. Like in the lore, Angela is 19 and pharah is 12 when they’re first meeting each other. Mercy is working alongside pharah’s mother as a coworker at that time.

I just wish they had kept the old writer.

Why don’t these interactions exist anymore, or do they? I don’t play a lot of either character but I always loved when Genji called her “Angela”…. It was super cute

This makes me so sad we lost all of the pregame interactions in OW2, aswell as during game interaction. We have lost all of them to pander pharmercy, even with so much buildup!
I hope the pandering doesn't go into the story they want to tell in the storymode, because they've hinted at gency interactions being in the storymode.

They had so many voicelines and interactions hinting and basically confirming a romantic relationship but it's been sidelined for pharmercy shippers begging it to be real. This whole video is evidence that there was atleast something but it doesn't matter anymore apparently.
