You've gone this far, there's no turning back now. Please continue the series, Patman!
ОтветитьThe graphics on Lemmings are amazing. I'll never forget the first time I loaded it up on the Lynx and saw the intro and the transitional zoom from the map screen to the level (Shame they weren't shown in the video). Compare it to the Game Gear version and it really shows how much more capable the Lynx was.
(To anybody who has never held a Lynx - The build quality of the Lynx compared to the Game Gear is night and day. The unit is solid and weighty compared to the Game Gear.)
Part 3, please! I'll wait here.
Ответитьmore!
ОтветитьI had an Atari Lynx, don't know why my parents brought it for Christmas, but very grateful. my Parents would have to steal my Gamepro magazines to know what it was (whenever the Lynx was released in a town of 200 in NZ. no video game ads on tv) So I got Viking Son and loved it. I wasn't allowed to buy anymore games (i wanted Klax) because I already had a game for it weird times.
ОтветитьLoving the Lynx coverage Patman great episode as usual and of course we'd love a Lynx part 3. Thanks 🎉
ОтветитьDo a part 3. I've been enjoying these Lynx vids. Sure brings back memories as a kid playing my brothers best friends lynx when it was a new handheld and pretty much no one owned one (they all had gameboys)
ОтветитьDefinitely an underrated console. Was very impressed by its graphics shown here. Never knew anyone who had one back in the day.
ОтветитьGood video, part 3 please
ОтветитьI spent a lot of time with Baseball heroes, even though I didn't care about the sport IRL (still don't). It was so addictive, somehow.
ОтветитьYou could read the phone book and I would watch
ОтветитьWow, Lemmings looks great on the lynx... so many actual lemmings compared to other handheld versions... might need to try and pick that up!
ОтветитьYes good sir a part 3 would be most welcomed!
ОтветитьYes to a Part 3 👍
ОтветитьThe Lynx was an amazing machine, but I was a Sega Game Gear owner at the time, having gotten it dirt cheap so I ignored it, to my loss. The only thing that frustrates me about it (having busted out an emulator after your last video) is how zoomed in close every game is. It's particularly annoying on Double Dragon and Rygar is another good example of how it impacts what would otherwise be absolutely top tier conversions of arcade classics. A double-screen side by side Lynx would have been a dream machine, but sadly impractical for retail at that time as it would have cost a mint to produce. Great video, love seeing the classics brought back to the spotlight on this channel, Patman!
ОтветитьGo ahead, Pat, do the whole Lynx library 🙂
ОтветитьHell yeah. Both Checkered Flag and Chip's Challenge are fenominal on thhe Lynx.
ОтветитьGreat video as always. Today I needed to laugh and some of the one liners you dealt had me howling out loud! Thanks for that 😊
ОтветитьDo a part 3 please.....
ОтветитьIf you make the video I will definitely watch it
ОтветитьAwesome to see the Lynx getting so much love
ОтветитьI loved warbirds!
ОтветитьPart 3, please.
ОтветитьWarbirds was great, only ever played it linked with 2 systems. I only knew one other person with a lynx. Desert strike and paper boy were my favourite games on the system though.
ОтветитьHey Patman you need to read this comment, you'll be glade you did! Ha-Ha! As the story goes I use to play Chips Challenge a lot back in the day! i wonder if i still have it? Because i need it back in my life! Holy Ninja Flips Patman, I've never seen Ninja Gaiden jump like that before! If the flips didn't make you want to play the Atari Lynx then the 16bit sound of iron man sure will!?! The Road Warriors with Spiked Shoulder Pads for Smashin & Breakin in a video game that has nothing to do with wrestling?!?! How cool is that?!!
ОтветитьI still remember me and my younger brother playing the crap out of put fighter on the genesis and laughing at those S&M dudes with leashes I believe.
Ответитьgreat video
ОтветитьI've got more real life experience with TGFX than lynx, and that's not saying much. I feel like the Lynx could have been a beast with better third party support.
ОтветитьYUSSS!! A new PatmanQC video!!A new PatmanQC video!!!
Every time I get an alert that you posted a new video I start jumping around like Steve Martin in the film The Jerk when he finds out his name is in the phone book!
Also I absolutely love the Batman shirt Patman sir, you absolute Giga-Chad!!
Cheers my friend!!! 😎
Yeah Patman! Great video! I miss my Lynx console!
ОтветитьI’ve never played Warbirds. But I have finished off many a Red Barron pizza.
ОтветитьWow, didn’t know the lynx had some good games.
ОтветитьPart 3: Achievement unlocked! Yes please, Patman!
ОтветитьThat Bill And Ted Game should have been included in the Bill And Ted Collection that came out last year . I bought the physical version from Limited Run Games because I played the NES vision so much as a kid . But they only had the NES and Gameboy Bill And Ted games in the collection . And I was in the comments at the beginning of this video 😊 !!!!
ОтветитьYes, please more!
ОтветитьCheckered Flag reminds me of Pole Position by Namco
ОтветитьElectrocop somewhat reminds me of Xybots by Midway
ОтветитьVideo 250 slam dunking it. Come on 100k now patman you can do it. More videos than freaking Jeremy parish in one fifth the years so proud of you, I'll drink to your health, punch out reference sorry
ОтветитьHi patmanqc hope your 2024 is a great one I don't know if this is allowed but can you do the history of pinball machines like from bally Williams to stern jersey jack and many more thanks and have a great day and rest of 2024 love your videos and channel
ОтветитьLove Xenophobe, Bill & Ted and Ninja Gaiden. War Birds and Checkered Flag are good also
Ответить👌
ОтветитьThe Lynx is one of my favorite portable gaming units from the past, as well as the PSP. I was a HUGE supporter for the Atari system and created "The Lynx Gaming Packet" from 1991 to 99 with around 100 pages of game codes, instructions and maps for nearly all of the games. Looking at my binder next to me on my desk, it is full of wonderful Lynx goodies from a former friend I made at Atari who would share lots of cool advertising items, maps and secrets with me during those years. I have 46 game slides; 12 "Atari Adventure" full-color booklets displaying the available titles in 15 pages; 3 "Grey Matters Vol.3" booklets from 1992 mainly covering "Batman Returns", but has 30 pages on all of the Lynx games; the "Atari Explorer Jan/Feb. 1991" magazine with 20 pages on the Lynx and games; a big, folded "Ninja Gaiden" double-sided poster; two white double-pocketed Lynx folders directly from Atari that are full of advertisements, news articles, pamphlets, and store newsletters; full-color 11x17" slick photos of the system and various game ads; tons of news releases directly from Atari, and all of the original "Atari Advantage" and "A.P.E." fan newsletter releases. My booklet full of codes, instructions and maps was sold through the newsletter. My model 2 unit is still in perfectly working condition with all of the games stored in an excellent double holder carrying bag made back then that looks like something you would buy in a store, though it was sold through "Atari Adventure", along with superb Velcro closed, three-way foldable material carrying cases for the cartridges, similar to the slots found in the officially released case, but better. I have five of those with all of my games. I only collected the best of the titles, so I have 42 of them. I used to have the store table top display stand, but ditched it years ago. So yeah, I'm a big fan of the system. I was the first to create instructions on how to play the fractal generator in "Chip's Challenge" and the "Game of Life" in "Zarlor Mercenary". Same for the maps to "Electrocop" and some other game related items. I loved "Slime World" and "Warbirds" the most, but all of the titles were fun. I have all of the game boxes as well, in mint condition, with manuals.
ОтветитьRygar brilliant game all round.
ОтветитьPart III!
Ответитьthe consensus is greater than a quorum of queefs, we would love a part 3!!!
ОтветитьGreat! More please!
ОтветитьPart 3
ОтветитьI got Lynx late in the game - they had even stopped making games for it. Klax was definitely my favorite on the Lynx. I miss that game. It's not the same on an emulator.
ОтветитьI had a LYNX for a while and with it was a Surfing game.
Can't remember the name of it, but I got pretty good at catching a wave.
I really was sitting on top of the world ( as the Beach Boys would say )!
( edit: as it turns out, there is an image of a boy playing this same Surfing game I was talking about right at the end of the video, so at least it isn't just a figment of my imagination, thank goodness.)
