This has nothing to do with the universe but a big enough mass of the human race that is stuck in an ideology that is only about competition and self-interest and needs scarcity and inefficiency while at the same time needs not just infinite consumption/demand but exponentially growing consumption/demand to work, people work to be able to work, an ideology that is absurdly called economy while it is obviously the opposite, not even a system but a pile of delusions and rationalizations held up by systemic obscurantism.
Architects are ways closer "Just a bunch of fng animals but too afraid of the outcome", since a big enough majority has been brainwashed for generations that every little change is the end and every alternative to the slave control system of feudalism/capitalism is communism, completely ignoring the fact that communism like socialism is the same money/market religion.
