This song makes me think of someone who fell in love with a friend/FWB and things quickly falling apart when the singer accidentally lets their feelings slip, and the FWB ghosts them afterward to avoid the awkwardness. The song feels like them realizing their hopes for reciprocation were always a pipe dream and there was never anything worthwhile to find in a deeper bond there, and the other person was never as invested as they were.

It burns deep, the pain, heart and body aches, the feeling of never stopping when we was tired..I miss it deeply, It makes me reminisce of what we once were, plasterers, me and my plastering partner..When it came to ceilings we just wanted the day done because of the shoulder and neck ache of always looking up.
