The hunt for the fountain is meant to be covert exhibition in a time of heightened tension between England and Spain.

The last thing either side wants to know publicly is their ships to fire one another. That’s why the Spaniard didn’t even acknowledge Barbossa’s ship even though he has the advantage of numbers and firepower.

- Gigachad catholics could have crushted that single british ship had they attacked them first. Barbossa was brave and smart enough to think twice (orders SIRE intensifies) by letting them be.

Well the line between privateer and pirate did blur. Many times the you were just treated as an ordinary pirate, because mainly the only thing that could differentiate the two is that one had the approval of a government to do piracy, under certain restrictions and limited to quasi-military actions. Also had to give a sum of your plunder to the government as well.

If Barbossa had not chosen to be a pirate, he would have done well in the English navy, whether as a captain or privateer!

The Spanish 🇪🇸 didn't even flinch when they saw the English, they just ignored them.
Remember that Spain 🇪🇸 was the first nation to dominate the seas of the world before the royal navy, the first nation to circumnavigate the world, the first nation to discover the American continent.

Throughout the centuries, Spain 🇪🇸 has always been the villain of a badly told story.
Told by her former enemies.
But her history, civilization, culture, heritage, language, is almost as important as that of Ancient Rome.
The nation that defended Christian Europe from the Ottoman advance in the famous battle of Lepanto.
The nation that discovered AMERICA (The continent is not a country, remember that Amerigo Vespucci was an Italian navigator, at the service of Spain, America was named in his honor to the newly discovered continent, not a country, not two continents) becoming an empire global before England or France.
The nation that Christianized the continent in the name of God (I will not enter into controversy with the Inquisition).
The first nation to rule the world's seas before the royal navy, the first nation to circumnavigate the world.
If you want to know Spain in depth, you must know the American continent, there is the purest of Spain.

Something that always bothered me was that Groves was not the leader of the expedition, he was a hero in the battle of pirates of the Caribbean 1, he helped the East Indies and survived the battle in the maelstrom, anyone would imagine that all those feats would be worth it the title of Admiral at least and many medals on his chest. But in Stranger Tides he ended up being one more servant, his entire military life was spent receiving orders from Norrigton, Becket and now Barbossa, it is sad that someone so loyal to the crown and the king did not receive the promotion he deserved. Groves deserved his own ship and his crew, not everyone survives all those battles

Among the great achievements of the Spanish Navy are the discovery of the American continent, (not a country) by the admiral in the service of Spain, Christopher Columbus.
The first circumnavigation of the world by Juan Sebastián Elcano.
The discovery of the maritime route between Asia and the American continent by Andrés de Urdaneta. The Spanish Armada was the most powerful in the world from the 16th century to the end of the 18th century and continued to be a naval force of world reference until well into the 19th century.

Before the Royal Navy was the owner of the seas, its predecessor was the Spanish Navy, who dominated the seas and made Spain the first global empire in world history.
