Glock 19 vs 17 [Don't Buy Until You WATCH This!]

The 19 is slimmer . I have the G45 which is a nice combination of both.

Glock 19 for concealment EDC, and the glock 45 for home defense or EDC

If you really want the best of both worlds, get a 19 for the concealment and then get a 21 for the full size. It’s really amazing how smooth it handles 45acp

Since I now have a Glock 19 gen 5, What do those of you with a 19 think about the new Glock 47 ? Would you want one rather than a 17 ?

I am a Lefty,so Gen 5 is my fav Glocks. Carry on a retirement Security Job, was a revolver LEO in 70's... So for 2 yrs, I had Gen 5 - 17, 15, 26 + 45 after they came out. Tried & carried all at times. Traded 26 for 43X. Traded a 45 9mm for a Vintage, hard to find S&W .357.
So finely, decided 19 & 43X were my Fav Glocks. 19 gen 5 is work Glock. It has a Factory ' minus " connector & night sights. Fits my medium size hand well. I ran 250+ rounds 08-18-23. Kept extra 17 mags, so have about 20 mags for extras & range.

I have a 17M, 19X and 19 Gen 5. The 17 is barely over a 1/2 inch longer and less than 1/2 inch taller than a 19.That being said ,in the future I would only buy the 19. When selling, the 19 is much more popular. When I conceal carry I carry a Shield Plus.

I went 19 MOS felt the 17 before making a decision it’s a pretty big difference feeling it then just reading specs 19 is more compact and easier to handle on the regular

I love my 17. Its shoots so smoothly. Fits my hand perfectly, and is pretty easy to conceal even for us tall skinny folk

I got the Glock 45---the best of both Glock 17 and Glock 19 models. The Glock 45 has the Glock 19 frame, the Glock 17 stock and the capacity of the Glock 17. You can't go wrong with the Glock 45.

glock 19 for me you can use the 15 round mag or the g17 mags plus its big enough for home defense and small enough to easily conceal carry.

I misfire my glock more times than I care to think about. The glock 5 without finger grooves is very slippery and I tend to drop it most times I fire it. The 17 is so big that I have to put it in my waistband without a holster, but it just falls out of my pants half the time. My last one got stolen because of this, just keep that in mind. My glock has shot me more times than I've ever shot someone else, so that gets annoying too.

It's a hard decision but if i had to pick only one i would pick the CZ-75.

I’m 5’8 and I’d say about average size hands, but the 19 is uncomfortably small in the grips (especially after shooting it) If I was going to sacrifice that for a little size difference and concealment, I’d rather just go with a subcompact. That’s just me though

I carry a 26 EVERYWHERE i go i keep the 19 in my truck with a backup 33rd mag ( an a AR?) An i keep a 17 stashed in my house amongst some other things.. that being said I love the Glock platform I originally was picking up a 1911 and was a Glock hater I told the guy at the gun store tells me that the 1911 only help six rounds but they make a Glock 21 that holds more than double that.. i said Hmmmmm and brought that bad boy home with me that night from that point on I have always had a Glock within reach 24/7

I have both the 17 , 19 and 45. I like the 45 best.

Wife runs a g19c gen4 with ported barrel and light. I run a g17 gen4 holo sights and light. I'm taller so it's easier for me but I say it's always ENOUGH gun for any situation. The 19c fits her hand good and the grip is shorter it feels like the bulldog version of the 17

G17 is my duty, g19 is off duty weapon.

My CCW gun is a Gen 3 Glock 29. G19 and G29 are about the size except G29 is a bit thicker. I have been shooting my G20 for twenty plus years and I am very fond of the 10mm cartridge so naturally my CCW is also a 10mm in a smaller size G29. I have G17 and G34 for fun.

Honestly Guarav, I'd purchase this gun, it's a really badass gun

I’m about to buy my first firearm can’t decide between the 17 and 19

I love both. I carry the Glock 19 as my EDC. The 17 is my duty weapon.
The 19 in my opinion shoots better than the 17 just a bit. The 17 is a great gun.

The Glock 17 is considerably easier to shoot than the 19 whatever the size of your hands. It's quite surprising when you shoot them back to back with the same ammo just how big the difference is. The Glock 19 is by no means difficult but, ironically enough, smaller lighter people with less strength and smaller hands are better off with a 17. When I went on a shooting course with my wife I had to swap the Glock 17 to her and use the 19. She's only 5 feet tall and barely 100lbs with small hands to match and she found the 17 much easier to use than the 19.
