Wrong Way Driver Hits Multiple Cars on The Freeway

According to CHP, Riverside office, Public information Officer Javier Navarro, On Sunday, April 28, 2024,
at 2:16 am California Highway Patrol, Communication center received multiple reports of a wrong way
driver heading northbound in southbound lanes of the 215 near Eucalyptus Street. The wrong way
driver collided with 2 vehicles on the transition road from westbound 60 to the southbound I215.
At that time, the wrong way vehicle continued until he was in westbound lanes of the 60 freeway.
At 2:20 a.m., 4 minutes after initial calls came in, the wrong way vehicle collided head on with 3 other
vehicles at which time the driver took foot bail. He was found on Day Street and was transported to
a local area hospital suffering major injuries. 3 patients from the head on collision were also transported
to local area hospitals, 1 of those required extrication and suffered major injuries, the 2nd of the victim
parties was transported with major injuries and a 3rd was transported suffering from minor injuries.
The wrong way driver was arrested and charged with suspicion of driving under the influence, driving
wrong way on the freeway and multiple hit and run charges.
