The objects mimic the natural sound they make?

Coming back to this video...maybe it's already been asked, but I'm curious why they didn't try to spread out the bits inside a bit, before X-raying. Unless they were held up vertically, then nevermind my dumb thoughts. 😅

I wonder if they are rattles because maybe they were made for kids baths?? It would make sense given the shapes too. They are playful. But maybe not given some of the big pieces also have it. 🤔 They could have been placed there to prevent cracking in the kiln? Is that a thing? I'm so entrigued now.

Maybe the one with the hole was filled with oil which would then be distributed during the massage ?

The holes in hollow porcelain objects are to relieve pressure during kiln firing. Part of the manufacturing process.# ask a ceramicist.

Might I suggest that the cypress three rasp is filled pieces of dried cypress resin. Cypress sap is collected because it has anti microbial properties smells very beautiful when burned.

I would assume that they were made hollow so that they would float. I'm curious on how they were made.

Oh that's nice. In my country we had to find stones for rubbing in the bath. I've always wondered why not "make" stone. Nice to know Persians already solved that! 😊

You have to put a hole in a large hollow clay sculpture before you fire it don’t you? So it doesn’t explode lol

Try to blow into the drop with a hole from short distance. Maybe it has sound? I agree that there rattles could be done to make the difference without seeing the object for people who use it, or for these who receiving procedures and has to be sure the needed is used. Also, perhaps the different sound is created for different speed usage as additional meditation element. Like maybe there was a belief that different sound relaxes person in needed way. Kind of historic ASMR practice :)

my silly little guess for the rattlies inside them is that it might help one hear where it is when its being used out of view, like on ones back. i remember getting a massage, even when totall relaxed, i still got slightly startled when the masseur`s hand lifted off of me, i didnt know where it went, then it touched somewhere else. nothing crazy, but just might be another minor thing thats easy to add, to contribute to the safe and relaxing atmosphere you would likely want in a bath.

Perhaps the large tear drop has a hole so it could be "weighted" by filling it with water. It could also be heated or cooled too this way
