ОтветитьWhen I was young, my grandma use to make Porotta and Beef curry every Sunday. For a long while, for me, sunday meant Porotta and Beef. My childhood memories smells of these crispy flaky Porotta and the spicy beef curry. Even today, whenever I eat a porotta, ofcourse with beef, I remember my grandma.

The similar paratha is really common & popular here. But we don't call it any othrer name than "cheka paratha".
And in other parts of our country this is not found.
As this is a port city peoples came here settled down from other parts of south asia, south east asia and even from middle east & central asia in some cases.
So, many of them have brought the food culture & habits along with them.
Secret ingredient is palm-sweat.
porotta won't taste original, without that.
&
Porotta has nothing to do with arab traders.....no foking evidence for that.
Porotta is really bad for health. It's material is even used to paste political banners on public walls.

ОтветитьPorotta matches seamlessly with any side dishes. And i found one more, hot fresh porotta with masala peanut, just try it, it may seem weird how a dry porotta matches with dry masala peanut that we eat as snacks, but it tastes good. but porotta needs to be fresh and hot.
