Nate won this encounter. 10-8. I think Rue stood her ground fairly well in the beginning but i dont like how Nate was able to leave her speechless like that. She shouldve called him gay before he walked away.

Cant wait to see the way Rue and Nate eventually have a real real confrontation. They both are the protagonist and antagonist of each others stories they just dont know it yet. Whether they fight or result unknowingly in eachother downfall i cant wait to see

There’s a really interesting part where Nate talks about Jules. He compliments her but in a very predatory sense. But he does acknowledge her potential. He sees the potential weaknesses and strengths of people. Some people just hit buttons that 90% of the population would be ashamed of, but he actually focuses. He could be a very strong leader. He is frank, but firm. He is smarter than he knows and is not transparent. It’s so intriguing to watch him. The only difference between him and Fez is empathy. One guy has the same attributes and is equally intriguing to watch. Especially when he hits him over the head with the liquor bottle.
Neither have Rue fooled.

I really wish we got to see Rue and Nate interacting in season 2.

I feel like he genuinely sees her as a threat, which is probably why they never even spoke in season 2.

It's pretty obvious that he tried to rile up Rue with his comment. But it's also interesting to point that Nate projected his view of Jules onto Rue in competitive and frustating way. When he said, "Are you sure that Jules told you everything?", Nate point out to Rue that Nate probably knew Jules better than her. We also can feel Nate's frustation when he said "You're spending time with someone who will leave you and won't remember who tf you are in 10 years.", as in the past Jules quickly broke ties with Tyler (which totally his fault), and he remembered that she will go to NYC and leave him alone.
