For myself I find that the training last all day long but the change only lasts a few minutes and needs to be repeated all day. I'm constantly retraining the dog

Its easy to stop from jumping up on you in one step. My father showed me. When a dog jumps on you., step on their back toes. The dog does not know you did it either. Works first time. If the dog trys it again with someone else tell them to step on those back toes. End of problem forever. Don't say anything to the dog before and after because the trick is you had nothing to do with it.

My daughter's black lab mix likes to jump me from behind She is only 6 months old and when she jumps, she is as tal as I am (5 feet) and hurts my shoulder and neck. The dog has basic training. It is hard to stop her if I don't knoow she is comimg up from behind.

My puppy knows what “off” means. Too well! She’ll jump up on purpose to get the “off” command, to get the treat when she gets off.

From a behaviourist, this isn’t a good video for learners. You have a puppy that doesn’t really jump.

Great training tips 😊 my dog understands very well that he’s not allowed to jump on me but getting him to understand it with other people is WAY more difficult because he’s very excited and every person will have a different reaction to him as to wether they want to talk to him or not 😐 - besides that my next biggest issue it to get him to calm down when there’s guests cuz he gets hyped up it takes him at least an hour in their company to calm down 🫤😥

I have never seen my German shepherd, jump vertically with all of his legs off the ground. Is that bad? I do wanna teach him how to jump with all his legs off the ground, I need help.

The previous advice we got was nudge them away, and I just kinda took it as the one giving it to me has had dogs for 30+ years now. But as my girl and me get on in training I'm more and more realizing that that person just kinda... didn’t really train their dogs. And that the nudge makes it into a game makes so darn much sense but it's new info to me.

My dog NEVER jumps on me. He does what my deceased small dog use to do when visitors show up. That was 3 years ago.

My dog doesn't jump with me, he does on other people and dogs.

You missed the initial reward/reinforcement moments early in your when the dog first laid down at your feet. And if you want more success realize the longer you delay reward from the desired behavior the weaker the effects. When you are 5 seconds out ...the learning window has probably closed (depending on the intelligence of the dog)... ...otherwise, great stuff thanks
