If Putin used a nuke, that triggers Article 5, Nato would strike back immediately with overwhelming conventional force, the entire rusky army in Ukraine would be destroyed within 72 hours and ALL of the Black Sea Fleet would be sunk. Putin has been told and this is why he won't use a nuke. He would also never see the sun again, he would have to live in a bunker for the rest of his life.
