Throat cancer - symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment explained

As a former smoker, I worry about this because of the way that I used to smoke. I would drag the smoke halfway down my throat, ( as opposed to pulling it all the way into my lungs). I quit smoking after being a caretaker to three friends dying of smoking related illnesses. It's been 14 yrs. Fingers crossed 🤞.

THANKS DOC, FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS EVEN LONGER EVERYTIME ID SWALLOW MY FOOD ID BE IN A COUGHING FIT UNTIL I DRANK SOMETHING, NOW FOR THE PAST THREE DAYS I HAVE A HOARSE VOICE AND IV BEEN HAVING A FEEL AROUND MY NECK AREA I THINK HAVE FOUND A LUMP ON THE LOWER END ON THE LEFT SIDE OF MY THROAT, UNLESS ITS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE THERE , BUT I DONT FEEL THE SAME ON THE RIGHT AND ANY THROAT DIGRAM I LOOK AT I DONT SEE ANYTHING THAT WOULD EXPLAIN ,IDONT HAVE PAIN IN MY THROAT HOWEVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS MY WHOLE NECK HEAD AREA HAS FELT OVERWELMINGLY HEAVY, AND IM CONSTANTLY TRYING TO BALANCE THE WEIGHT AROUND EVENLY THROUGHOUT THE DAY. HMMM WELL I GUESS I MAY WAIT THE NEXT MONTH OVER TO SEE IF THIS VOICE COMES BACK,IF NOT I WILL SEEK HELP.THNKS

My grandfather having throat cancer. We take him to hospital and doctors did chemotherapy and said now he is in fourth stage cancer spread inner parts of body. Now he can't stand on his own. Can you suggest any further treatements or home treatements.

I'll just put it out there. I've always been healthy. I've only been to the hospital once for kidney stones. Anyway, almost three weeks ago I woke up with a sore throat out of nowhere. After about a week it didn't go away. Then suddenly it got better and almost completely went away. Then, suddenly it just came right back but this time it was worse. Now it's subsided again and last night it was almost completely gone again. I talk to my parent about it but she thinks I just did something to my neck. I don't have hoarseness and my voice hasn't changed. No lump either that I can feel. I scheduled an appointment though next month. This would just be weird. I'd be the first man in my family to ever have cancer in the last 100+ years. No one in my family that I know has ever died of cancer either. Better to be safe than sorry though. Just such rotten luck. I lost my career during covid and been struggling ever since and now this? Like could the universe possibly toss anything else at me lol?

Hi im a 12 year old today i smoked from a vape quite a lot and my throat slowly got a bit swollen is it cancer or allergy

I don't hope I don't have cancer. I cant figure out what my problem is. I went to my dentist and oral surgeon last week to be evaluated about my recent dark spot in my mouth that has appeared again after years. The oral surgeon offered me a biopsy, and he said it would cost over $1,000 with my insurance. I had so many health problems since 2008 when I graduated high school. As for the month and throat problem, the roof palate of my mouth turned dark brown/black in 2017 or 2018. I had a black doctor at the time. He told me nothing was wrong with my mouth and black people have darker gums. He ignored my symptoms. Months and years later, my tonsils have been completely swollen and they never went down. The back of my mouth is always red, and there are small lumps hidden below my tonsils. I did go to an otolaryngologist (ENT) last year. He looked and immediately said my tonsils need to be removed. I still think there is something more going on. I have also been dizziness with vertigo since February. I have a neurologist appointment on May 3. My mouth and throat has been red and swollen since 2017 or 2018. It looks hideous.

Where I live health care is rationed. 1st doctor visit in 8 years last week. immediately sent me to see 3 specialists for variety of possibly serious issues. one is trouble swallowing and my speech volume diminishing. always believed prevention is the best cure. live healthy. no vices or drugs. but what good is it if you literally can't see a doctor for 8 years because of waiting lists? the system isn't working.

What about smoking other stuff you said tobacco not weed or vapes

My Father died due to throat cancer. He was about 68 when he passed away, he also was an avid smoker. If you're reading this, and are a smoker, please consider stoping your vice and start living healthier. I personally would never smoke.
