OpenTTD Quick Start Tutorial - All the Basics in 25 min (Playlist link in the description)

Well well, i just get the Steam version of this game. I've been playing this game since a long wile. It wasn't called "OpenTTD" in those days, was just "Transport Tycoon Deluxe" at that time. So i've been playing this since a long time but with this viedo i just learned a couple of new things. It's amazing. Good job. 👍

I heard about this game last night for the first time in the beginning of a playthrough video for another game. I've spent hours pouring over tutorials about how to play but yours so far has been the most thorough and easiest to understand. This playlist is gonna be a goldmine-- I can feel it.

Is there a mod that changes interface size, the default normal is too small, the double and quadruple is too big.

for some reason my airports don't have the buy airplane option :-( oh well I guess I'm stuck at this part of the tutorial hahaha

When you built the second airport directly next to the "town houses" in Tenpool that immediately made me think of Tempelhof in Berlin. When they built Tempelhof jets did not exist yet, so maybe it was not such a nuisance.

heya,man i dont know if your in touch with the devs,but the game is somewhat broken.
ill explain:

so my advisary used the bus station exploit,of building 5 bus stops in a cricle in town.
and then having a direct train station with 4 trains,to another city where he does the same.

now i on the other hand,spread my bus stations for max coverage,then transfer my mail and passengers to the train station,and then bring them to the other town,via train.

in the end i get way more passangers then him,how ever,they want to be dropped off at a specific station.
cause i buildt infrastructure between citys.
so it adds an extra layer of work,instead of passanger that want to go to any station.

so now heres why its broken,i do all the extra work,but somehow he makes double my money.
people should be rewarded for building infrastructure,between city's,and transfering.
optimal would be transfer to train station,travel to destination,transfer to bus station drop of in town.
so why its broken,it because his train station only has one destination,and my passengers need a specific station.
and i make less money cause of that,cause my passengers refuse to load.
overal transfering makes less money it feels like.

now ive also encountered the opposite problem,my passengers want to go to any station.
so making bus lines between train stations,transfering an picking up,just takes away passangers from the train station.
cause they hop back into the bus,instead of wanting to go to the next town.
and if i transfer them to the other train station,instead of dropping them off,i acctully lost money,and went bankrupt.

basicly transvering made me 3000,dropping them off makes me 15000.
so they dont decide for themselves what there end station is,if its on any station.
I can endlessly transfer any station passengers.

ive also noticed something diffrent,his bus exploit was not max growth,growth is also determined by vehicles in the city ,my city outgrew his.

so afther these 2 playthroughs...the best setup is:
pickup in town,transfer to station,dropp of at other train station (dont transfer),and take in mind they sometimes need a specific destination,and keep an eye out for max vehicles in town.
transfering to train station and then dropping off in town,or picking them up from the train station (with bus),makes you a los.
unless the rules dont apply cause they need a specific transfer.

youll encounter these problems when you have 3 city's connected.
i geus the mail system work the same way?...so should be poossbile to make way more money then him.

One thing in your big save all the names of places are local to me (Louth, Lincolnshire) and you have even named some pretty small places like Kirton Lindsey. You must be local too!? I don’t want your address or anything just a cool thing to see ha 👍

After getting Rise of Industry for free on epic games, I see openttd mentioned in a lot of discussions about the game. Tried it for myself since I saw it free on steam but the lack of in-game tutorials to at least get you familiarized with the mechanics was disappointing. Thanks a lot for this!

I downloaded OpenTTD on a whim today after thinking about it for literal years. I went poking around and quickly decided to look up a tutorial. I found this, said to myself, "Jesus christ a 26 minute tutorial," but eventually decided to play it.

I want to know how to add more coaches in Mid station.
I made a long distance train but kept terminal as Hilly town with 3pf length, so 6lenght train I want train to add more coaches in next Long PF station on its own like making it 10 from 06. How can I do this.?

Do you have one specific for ins and outs of Trams? or of larger capacity Trolleys/Trucks? I have been using the 2cc Bus Set, that I like but need something similar for cargo, specifically for Mail.

Totally forgot about the tree placing to pacify town officials. Millions spent to bribe towns with 50 inhabitants 😂 😅
