Can Roblox Studio compete with Top Tier Game Engines?

Many people think that Roblox Studio and Lua aren't capable of anything and that there are too many limitations. But that's far away from the truth. Roblox Studio is easy, and the basics of Lua are easy too, but you can make really complex projects with just Lua and Roblox Studio. I need to kind of correct you, a Roblox game can in fact look like COD, there are Roblox shooters that have really good graphics, and the characters look real too!

The map you show is actually no more than 1 hour work for a normal developer at roblox. Roblox have got a ton of limitations but this just means that there are a ton of work arounds! I have developed on roblox for more than a year and the graphics are not bad it depends on the developer's skills! Roblox supports good graphics but since it's hard to make and it takes a ton of time most of the games prefer the easier way and in addition the games which chose hyper realisum it's hard for them to edit the map once they built it! I'm currently working on a game which is based of GTA but with different idea and currently it's going nice! It's named Lost Sanches!

It is easier to promote Roblox game via social media if your country has a large audience, I can confirm this as I live in a country with small population it was hard to get it out but one of my games got viral because of the audience from neighbouring countries: Indonesia & Malaysia. Also making unique games is not as worth making compared to simpler games on Roblox nowadays so don't spend too much time on it because the chances are slim that it will blow up unless the idea is really good and you see a potential from it

no but seriously roblox studio can be a very good engine but it does have it's issues (for example, it only has Lua, which can become an issue when you need to do more intensive work)

roblox uses luau not lua btw

"2" + "2" = 4 and hard to read syntax(i mean any syntax that is not c like) is bad enough for me to stick to unity or s&box

roblox has a huge problem: You cant use it on linux and you cant even use a virtual machine because its blocked there too (wine doesnt work)

I would consider roblox more like 3d mario maker with code and ingame currency.

The only thing I hate about LUA is the fact that lists start with index 1 instead of 0

well, acctually there is game really well made specially one that is made to copy cod, if you search up for roblox cod game you find videos of a game that does not look like 99% of the roblox games, its so well made.
