SonicWall Access Point - Basic step by step configuration

My church gave me an extra Sonicpoint ACe. It hasn’t been registered. Is it possible to use as a network extender to provide WiFi to the far side of my home?

Unfortunately, it seems the new TZ line (including my TZ270) actually doesn't support providing simultaneous 2.4G and 5G wifi. this is quite a disappointment when in a small office & home and there isn't another wifi.

Hi, thanks for the very informative series of videos. I am in the process of setting up a new network. To keep the cost down, I am looking at used stuff from ebay. For example TZ500 and a few SonicPint Ni or Ace APs. However, I was not able to find any good information about Licenses. If I get used equipment, all licenses will be expired. Ni/Ne access points do not work in standalone mode, but need a central controller. Will they even work with TZ500 with expired licenses? Is it really necessary to have Enhanced OS license to use those APs ?? I am so in the dark... thanks!

I have seen the video .. and my 2nd question is simple .. can I use the SonicWALL SonicPoint ACi AP alone, that is, without the SonicWall TZ400 router ???
They are selling me cheap 2 APs and a router... but I want to use the APs, not the routers... Is it possible??? ..

I see some licenses until 2023 and 2025 on the web that you explain .. do you need licenses to make it work???

I am following your guidelines but getting an error message "There is no eligible trade-in unit for upgrade" also "The serial and Auth code entered do not exist" I have rechecked that and they match. These were just purchased. Any thoughts?

Hi Jean-Pier.. I have a quick question.. I set up a WAP and bridged a physical interface to create a LAN. I see that 15 dhcp leases out of 167 are taken and it is starting to not let people online. Any idea what the problem might be?

can we configure sonicwall tz as proxy based internet..like all client internet using proxy ip and port.

At 33 mins you speak about reducing the beacon time to 400ms, and that you saw something about it somewhere to do that based on there being 4 SSIDs. But I cannot find any articles online that says it should be that high or that you need to reduce it based on the number of SSDs a device is transmitting. Can you post what you found for an article?
