Check out Prosus. bought back 15% of their stock this year — I believe. My take is he’s setting up a strong narrative to defend his investment in Prosus. The company is selling Tencent to buy back its stock. Kinda follows everything Monish is saying.

He probably sold out of China completely at a loss. I personally think it’s a good risk/reward opportunity but he is managing other peoples money and doesn’t feel confident enough to have money there. Understandable but I def have lost some respect for him. He talks too much about specific companies with such authority and changes his mind 6 months later.

Mohnish is a smart guy, no doubt but imagine putting millions in an insecure place, how could you sleep at night. I own BABA, I own alot of it. However, I feel like, It is down so much now, that the risk is paid for and moving forward the upside is still gonna be there. I paid for the risk and now patience is gonna be needed. This will take years to pay me back. I still believe that it will.

He sold everything in the West except Micron. He has better opportunities in Turkey & India. Buffett did the same thing back in the day, selling what he owns to buy into stuff that is cheaper.

He flip flops so many times. Guy can’t stick to one strategy
