Great great film.
Ответить"Sit Down Colonel !!!" Great video thanks for posting.
ОтветитьSo great to live a childhood memory for real
ОтветитьA wonderful report on the best (if not the most accurate) WWII film ever made. Dr. Felton, an outstanding work!
ОтветитьThank you very kindly for this.
Very much appreciated!
I NEED to see that
ОтветитьThe ju 52 at the start is such a good example of aviation camouflage
ОтветитьIt never occurred to me that the castle in the film was a real place, and if it mentions it in the credits I missed it. Now I really want to visit.
ОтветитьThank you Mark, that was wonderful.
ОтветитьInteresting, howver part of the movie was filmed in Yugoslavia (Slovenia-Croatia).
ОтветитьDr. Felton, here is some trivia for you. The stuntman who jumped between the cable cars in "Where Eagles Dare" was Alf Joint. Mr. Joint also played the hit man who James Bond electrocuted in the bathtub at the beginning of "Goldfinger." I found it shocking, simply shocking. Thanks, once again, for an outstanding video.
Ответить👎🏽 Is this a Video about the castle or about the movie? I don't think you know.
ОтветитьLooks like castle wolfenstein from the games
ОтветитьSaw this movie in an outdoor summer theater in Poland in around 1971 was 10 years old myself , truly was fascinating .
ОтветитьGreat
ОтветитьLovely video.
ОтветитьMy childhood nostalgia. Watched the movie over 100 times.
ОтветитьThank you! This makes me eager to re-watch the film. It'll probably be my 15th time.
ОтветитьThis was great movie thanks for sharing this video
ОтветитьDr Felton, I must admit this video got by me somehow, and only just now viewed it.
I really appreciate your sense of humor, you’re a crack up! I enjoy all of your stuff, I learn and I am entertained as well.
I’d love to visit the castle. We’ll have to ad it to the list of sights to visit when we’re there.
ОтветитьGood stuff 👍
ОтветитьBought the movie, “WHERE EAGLES DARE,” Right About 8 years ago on Apple iTunes. God only knows how many times I’ve watched it. I absolutely love it!!
ОтветитьAnother interesting production. Thank you!
ОтветитьThis is one of many places I decided to visit when I was a kid. Been to Rjukan and Heavy Water plant. Also the real eagles nest (Kehlstein haus) Still got this place to visit 🙂
ОтветитьAn MP40 is on every boy’s Christmas list!
ОтветитьFollowing the release of the film, the American "Mad," comic produced a very funny parody of the production. If you get the chance, see if you can find it. The dénouement in the castle hall is the highlight.
ОтветитьDo you have it? Yes, we have it all
ОтветитьLOVED YOUR VISIT!! I WAS 6 WHEN I SAW IT WHEN IT CAME OUT . I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND ALOT OF IT AT THE TIME BEING 6 . WHAT I DO REMEMBER IS RON GOODWIN'S MUSIC . THE BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAINS AND SNOW ,AND LOTS OF GUNS AND BOMBS GOING OFF . NOW AT 61, EVERY WINTER WHEN IT SNOWS 🌨 I POP IN THE BLUERAY AND RELIVE THE BEST W.W.2 FILM EVER MADE .
ОтветитьI am from India gujrat & this film, movie is in my PC many times I enjoyed ❤ nice movie & dilogue ,we have got company 😊 excellent 👍
ОтветитьOne of, if not THE, best WW2 film ever made
ОтветитьSuperb job Mark
ОтветитьThe View Of The Castle Must Be Breathtaking,As Well Of Historical.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing this. Fascinating to see where it was filmed. While the film is exciting, the book is completely different, in that there is a very small 'body count'. The film version is a typical Hollywood interpretation with lots of guns, bodies and explosions. Instead, in the book, the character Smith is a master of misdirection and quick thinking and talks and thinks his way past all the difficulties. Probably that would not be enough bangs for US audiences! Thanks again for researching it.
ОтветитьNice injection of comedy. I loved the movie!
ОтветитьYou are pointing that at me aren’t you colonel?
Ответить"Broad Sword calling Danny Boy! Broad Sword calling Danny Boy!!!"
ОтветитьSaw the movie the year it came out in my local theater in York, PA......so many good films were made in 67-68-69...back in the glory days!!! Schloss Adler is on my bucket list for next trip to Prague and Vienna.
ОтветитьI"ve always loved that film, watch it every couple of years. I'm about due again. Sad that the Ju crashed, I wasn't aware of that. I believe there is still one flying in the US today.
ОтветитьI still always watch this movie whenever it is on.
ОтветитьJust watched this movie again yesterday. Fun movie for sure
ОтветитьMy father and I just watched this again recently, for 1968 it's a pretty action packed movie!
ОтветитьOUTSTANDING POST MARK FELTON!! One of my favorite WW2 movies. How about GUNS OF NAVARONE???💙🙏👌
ОтветитьRemember this film well, like you I enjoyed it. A great video and a pleasure to watch, thank you.
ОтветитьDo you have any info on whether or not this castle in Werfen was ever a youth hostel in the 1960’s? I vividly remember staying one night in a castle in Werfen in 1969. I believe this is the one.
ОтветитьThat's great 👍
ОтветитьBeautiful memories from what still remains my all-time favourite film.
Thank you Dr.
👍👍
