Watches exploding engine from a couple feet away. Doesn't wear safety glasses. That's awesome.

Should have use big gap normal rings on pistons

Better real glass like melt point 2,000 c no problem and need thicker one won't be break down compression engine

This was an amazing video! Got to see it fire just once. I've always dreamed of building a see through engine that really works. How about transparent aluminum?

they made designed it to well which resulted in too high compression and transparent block didnt handle. next time they have to make it like typical petrol engine after 500k km :D

perfect to watch it rotate, not to actually fire the cylinders...

2. Ve 3. Piston ateslemis. Compression oranini cok yuksek yapmis. Metal blok seviyesinde yapmis. Oysa 7.1 oraninda yapsa bu olusmayacakti.

It's unreal the amount of force that air and fuel mixture generates when it ignites , One time me and this one buddy of mine made a potato launcher but we used gasoline instead of hair spray for the propellant because hair spray gums up the threads on the end cap , So I got a tiny trigger sprayer and put a small amount of gasoline in it and after loading a potato , Gave it half a spray in the combustion chamber
Pointed straight up and fired it
I would guess it shot that potato a good 500 feet in the air , We almost couldn't see it it went up so high
I wish there was a way to measure the amount of force when an air and fuel mixture ignites I wish there was a way to measure the amount of pressure in the cylinder when that air and fuel mixture ignites , It's got to be tremendous , No wonder that engine block has to be as strong as possible
Now that gave me some idea of how much force is being put down on the crankshaft when that air and fuel mixture ignites , WOW , How It blew that whole assembly right out of the block is unreal , Another thing I just learned is what can possibly happen if you try to start an engine using starting fluid , One time I was working at an air compressor shop and me and my boss were working on a huge Atlas Copco portable air compressor with a 12 cylinder Deutz diesel engine and Atlas Copco said absolutely do not use starting fluid because Atlas Copco told us that another person did that and literally blew up the whole engine as if somebody put a bomb in it
Causing over $ 150,000 in damage
Well , The company who rented the air compressor from Atlas Copco had to pay for the damage , Like I said that after seeing this is to avoid using starting fluid , My boss told me he's heard of a number of cases where people were using starting fluid and it blew the cylinder heads right off the block

The huge forces of compression in the connecting-rods during the power strokes, and the less but still considerable forces in the compression strokes. have to be balanced by the crankcase, particularly by an exactly equal tension in the sides of the block. A clue to the magnitude of these forces is the size and design of a con-rod, and the thickness of the steel sides of a normal casing. The plastic material here just didn't have anything like the required tensile strength.
These reaction forces in casings and in stationary engine beds are often forgotten about, because even though they are huge and reciprocating exactly to match the moving parts, nothing is moved by them and they are invisible. But that's what's going on all the time, push against equal pull, action against reaction, in engine mechanisms and in fact in all machine movements.
But I confess that I was carried away as much as anyone by the enthusiasm of these crazy guys, and didn't give myself time to consider these things, which I've known for ever, having been a designing engineer, and was just as surprized when it broke right at the outset. Despite my better knowledge I was expecting a short run of a few seconds, before blowing through an overheated cylinder wall.
So for entertainment value - thanks!

My pet peeve is the misuse of the word "decimated". That thing has at least 8 times the damage being decimated would cause. Decimated is only a 10% loss. That is much worse.
