To me, the color shift over grey primer showed the purple a little better.😊
ОтветитьYou know there’s this hermit who bought thousands of plastic spoons, cheap acrylic paints and pledge. He’s cave is jam packed full of all the stuff you show us. Think hes some second or third cousin to Golem.
Seriously, you show something good, and you never see it again.
Definitely in hermit stash. 😊
What gloss or matte coat can you use for these paints ?
ОтветитьI have to say that I admire how you present your materials and techniques, and yet, most of all, your enthusiasm and demeanor is SO positive and supportive!!! I really like your channel, and I follow your suggestions to the letter. I also make props for TV shows, like JAG, Agents of SHIELD, Picard2 and Chicago Fire. And btw, I bought that Grex airbrush; I love it, and it works really well! You're the best!!! 🙏
ОтветитьThank you for this video. I just tested some "Decoart Crafter's Acrylic" metallic paint from Dollarama in Canada and it worked beautifully.
ОтветитьI use these paints thined with water the work very well but the more water the more coats
ОтветитьBrilliant video 👍
ОтветитьOk suppose as long as you use as decent Clear coat it doesn't matter about the previous coats
ОтветитьBut why wouldn't you purchase a Decent brand when you have just spent god knows how much money and time on the model.
ОтветитьThanks for the tip.
ОтветитьCan't you get good results with a cheap airbrush by polishing the needle? Isn't that the main variable ( that and air pressure )?
ОтветитьYou videos are great but i have a question of comparing the windshield washer fluid vs your other recipe video. Why one or the other?
ОтветитьThey have some really nice colors. My wife has a bunch of them and will be trying this out.
ОтветитьShould I prime? and can I mask it? Dry time??
ОтветитьFor the Windshield Washer Fluid, is it the "All Season" (contains Alcohol) or "Summertime" (no Alcohol)? or does it matter...
ОтветитьDo you dilute the windshield washer fluid at all?
ОтветитьI really like the Apple barrel paint if water tomorrow I'll try with some windshield washer fluid and see if I like it as much as a water
ОтветитьJust found your channel recently, and I'm now getting back into model building after a 11 year hiatus. I do have one question to ask if I may, which kind of baffles me that I don't see anyone else asking but being that you are using windshield washer fluid as a thinner, wouldn't you need to worry that the blue pigment of the windshield washer fluid is going to affect your overall color?? If you could please explain, I would appreciate it. Love your content by the way. VERY informative.
ОтветитьVery nice video, Im a real neubi to air brush, I really like this video, I thought I had to buy 5.00$ paints to make it work, I have 15 bottles of outdoor paints from a craft store for bird houses, Im going to thin them out and air brush the bird houses - this should be fun ... thanks again for this very useful video... take care...
Ответитьim using decoart paint right now and not getting very good results... its my first day using an airbrush lol
ОтветитьDude your videos are awesome! I'm just getting into using my airbrush and I watch your videos constantly for tips and tricks.
Ответитьhave you tried Fantastik as a thinner? @BloodShotAirbrushing mentioned it back when, but it falls in with Windex/windshield cleaner as a thinner. i tried it at some point with good results before i went damn near lacquer exclusive.
also a great general cleaner, so bonus points.
To paint straight from the bottle you need to prime surface first. I use Home Depot white primer paint for my big statues and paint the very small details with brush. Hope it helps.
Ответитьit is funny how if we didn't watch you paint with them, nobody would know it was craft paint
Ответитьcolor shift is now 5.00 dollars at Michaels
ОтветитьDoes it matter on windshield washer fluid if it is winter formula or summer formula?
ОтветитьBought a bunch of craft paints (acrylics) from Wallyworld today. So far they are working just fine. Need a lot of thinning, but other than that, coverage and levelling is good. Also dry quickly!
ОтветитьThat color shift over black looks awesome!
ОтветитьGreat information ! Thank you much ! 🙂👍
ОтветитьI have just started learning how to use an airbrush ... just picked up the Neo Iwata today and am watching tutorials; painting, cleaning, etc. ... so when I say that I am a beginner, I mean 'literally', so I apologize for my ignorance but what does "flashing" mean?
ОтветитьThanks so much for testing. Re: handbrushing - from some of the videos I've seen, these spoons are ABS plastic a dif. Chemical make-up to Polystyrene & very glossy so hand-brushing paint will slide off. Other Videos recommend to prime 1st, then use several light (thinned) coats to hide brush strokes. I'll let You know how it turns out (on a piece of styrene) when I start up on models as I had Covid, Pneumonia then a Blood Clot all within same year as 3rd Covid Shot, still recup. THIS Yr can only be better! lol
ОтветитьI found a beautiful teal Decoart paint last week but I cant for the life of me get it to spray nice through my Iwata Neo. I think the metallic flakes are too big.
ОтветитьI got super confused when I saw a Giant logo didn't know they had another brand called Stop and Shop that shared their logo.
ОтветитьThanks for showing budget friendly options
ОтветитьThis is a great video. Thank you
ОтветитьYou need to spray that color shift on silver base coat to get an excellent color effect!
ОтветитьHow long should i let my craft paint cure for? Tried doing the salt method for “rusting” one of my models and the craft paint literally fell off the whole body, im going to strip it and redo it
ОтветитьI know you said you talked about the small bottle you put the washer fluid in as part of one of your tips and tricks videos, but I have not been able to figure out which one it is. Does anyone know where to get those bottles by chance?
ОтветитьVery cool idea.
ОтветитьCould I use mr. Color leveling thinner to thin craft acrylic? Or would it take too much to thin and therefore become expensive? Which of the 2 do you recommend? Mr color or the washer fluid?
ОтветитьYeah the last one being semi-transparent is really getting influenced by what color you put under it. I'd be interested to know how many different color variations it can get. It's the same reason why I used some Pro Acryl transparent paints, acrylic inks and some Golden High Flow, their transparency helps produce lots of different effects on different surfaces.
ОтветитьCeramcoat is made by Rustoleum I believe, so not surprising it works better than most other cheapo paints. They atleast have a brand name behind their products they have to maintain
ОтветитьGreat video
What do you use to seal these acrylic paints?
craftsmart is micheals store brand. and Folkart is actually good if you do the metallic not this color shift one. I have all of these and bout 600 more lol. i airbrush all of them. some brands are a lot better than others and price has litterally nothing to do with it. Folkarts are the best Decoart is twice as expensive and 1/10 as good.
ОтветитьOk Question, now that you have made your own mixture for thinning craft paints, which one do you prefer for craft paints , I use the USA made craft paint I am working on a retaining wall for my model railroad, almost 12 ft to paint , getting the thinning part correct is the key, recommended psi , 20 to 25 psi , using compressor with storage tank now
ОтветитьHi it looks great but what are you doing men you want to paint white with your blue windshield washer?😮
ОтветитьNo mention of nozzle sizes or settings?
ОтветитьIs that a faint Boston I hear?
ОтветитьIt's pronounced "Vah-ye-ho".
Ответить
