I've been a machinist for 45 years , and bought a Lincoln Tig machine in 2005 and have had a blast with it . Since I have been watching TFS I've been making some pretty good money with it. My observation on this video is that you would make a good machinist.

When fabricating parts by welding that have small tolerances, the use of jigs cannot be overemphasized.

Hi, I was just curious as to why you chose to use square tubing. Would round tubing have worked just as well, or is there something specific about the square tubing that makes it better suited for this type of job? Cheers! Thank you.

Justin , I might have a tip for you when you use emery cloth on your lathe. I was taught to lay a rag on the lathe bed ways when
using emery cloth. The reason being that the grit on the emery cloth comes off while your using it and it sticks on the oiled bed ways.
Then when you move the saddle or tail stock on the bed ways with grit on them you will start to sand down the bed ways and will
start to create a swayback or low spot. This will make the lathe untrue in its future. Just an observation from a fan in Alaska.

I think if you take a part of the car that is light and flexible and replace it with something ten times sturdy, something else will break at either side of those bolts or the bolts themselves will bend. Nice welding and clean work. Did you drink 10 cups of coffee before narrating? You speak faster than those auctioneers.

Very nice work, Do you have any draw after you took it out of your jig?
TIG Welding is the one process that uses the most heat out of MIG, Stick !

Why not MIG weld it? im partial to tig myself as well. But i cant help but feel that MIG might give a stronger weld in this scenario
