i cannot find my issue on this channel, My blazer will flood when off, somehow it lets fuel out of the carb into the manifold, i have adjusted the floats, and made sure it is clean, i think it is leaking out of the jets, but not positive.
ОтветитьIf it is not float level, have you checked to see if your float has taken on any liquid fuel? Like a sunk float?
Ответитьno fluid in float, i checked when i adjusted the floats, they are brass, or something that looks like it, was checking it out again today, and couldn't figure any thing out, i removed the vent from my gas tank cap as well, did not help. I bought it when i was deployed and installed it on leave it worked perfect, came back a few months later and it ran fine, after i moved stations and grabbed my blazer about 5 months later i have had nothing but problems with the carb, it was ran while i was
Ответитьoverseas as well, it doesnt like hills or temperature differences, both will make it flood. the seats for the shut offs for the floats are clean, as well as the rest of the carb.... i dont know what i will have to do, maybe buy a new one.
Ответитьi have the same setup on my 85 c-10 no issues what so ever.
ОтветитьBefore you go out and buy a new one try this if you please. With the lid off and inverted upside down, make sure you can roll or slide the 7/16" HALF way under the float on top of the gasket. I mean HALF way under just about where that little silver solder is like the arch of your foot. If you do this one more time I feel it will be better!!! Let us know the outcome.
Ответитьi have a eddy 1406 on an 80 El Camino. its gotten cold where i live and it takes a lot to start it, also when i got to start it in the morning it starts then shuts off, after it warms up and i get out it doesnt start up. i have to crank it for about 10-15 sec. when going up hill it struggles and seems like the car wants to cut off. what is the issue?
ОтветитьSounds like you will have to remove the top lid from the main body and re-adjust the float level using a 7/16" drill bit as a measuring tool.
ОтветитьWe just had a brand new Edelbrock carb fail and ruin a 700hp motor after 2 hours run time. See our video Edelbrock Carb Fail 1967 Pontiac GTO
ОтветитьI have a problem with my edelbrock 1806 carb it runs so rich it smokes white and burns your eyes I know people say its a coolant problem but its not its just running that rich I have a pretty lumpy cam with low vacuum pressure do you have any thoughts on it? at idle it smokes a little bit but its really bad at wot
ОтветитьSmokeshow2442, you need to remove the top and readjust the float level to 7/16" using a drill bit as a measuring tool. You want the bit to roll or slide half way under before the bit raises the float. Also if you have low vacuum you may want to install our BLUE springs under the power piston where the primary metering rod connects under the little covers on top.
ОтветитьAlright I'll give that a try thanks for the response.
ОтветитьHe is not addressing the problem most people have. Edlebrock is junk. First thing, i have never had one that runs right. Also, if you have a high performance engine, with not enough vacuum , you are screwed. These carbs were made to run on normal engines. Not big cam. I have been fooling with mind for 3 years, and multiple old school mechanics, they all tell me the same thing----buy a holley.
Ответитьproblem i am having is i am not seeing any fuel squirt to begin with my engine is a perfomance engine with 11:1 ratio and electric fuel pump that is brand new
ОтветитьI have a 1405 that runs very rich. What can I do to pass emissions here in Arizona? I have a 68 mustang with a 302 engine. A competition cam. Do not know the specs. Thanks Ron
ОтветитьMy 1406 600 cfm was running perfect until I swapped stock mufflers for glasspacks. Now I can't figure out why I'm percolating. Even on a cold engine in the mornings it does this...ANYBODY have ANY suggestions to what I could do to solve this.... please
ОтветитьMy Edelbrock 650 Performance carb is leaking at the fuel line inlet. I'm having a hard time finding those. It had some paper type that tore when I tightened it. The parts stores say discontinued and want my to buy a rebuild kit for $45. Seems silly just for 2 washers! Any leads, it's getting nicer out and I only drive these when it's nice out. Thanks.
ОтветитьI have that problem on my z28 . How do I fix it ?
ОтветитьLeaking out of the greenish sensor on top of the carb
ОтветитьThis is the exact problem I’m having, thank you for posting the video. I did not want to disassemble the carburetor too deeply. Does anyone know if a new gasket will be required between the two sections of the carburetor body. Also my carburetor has an electric choke but when I apply 12 V to the Contacts it does not open or close. Does anyone know what it should be doing with voltage on it? Thanks
ОтветитьAdditionally it look like the person who bought the carburetor on to the engine used a completely square opening adapter plate despite the instructions stating otherwise for a Quadra jet engine. However they left the instructions in the bottom of the box so I guess they wouldn’t have known that. Is that really an issue?
ОтветитьIm here because I have a 79 Jeep CJ7 with a 360 AMC. NEW Edelbrock intake, NEW Edelbrock cam,NEW Edelbrock carburetor. I have Headman headers with Borla XR1 mufflers NO Catalytic converter. I am having a very strong smell of fumes. What could be the cause of this and how can I fix it? I drive around and when I get to where I wanted to go to I smell like gas, please help, thanks.
ОтветитьCan i sue this carb in a boat? will it run good?.
ОтветитьSo how do you fix the problem?
