During our conversation, Eugenie and I discussed her 1994 coining of the now ubiquitous phrase “Gish Gallop,” her CSICon 2017 Halloween pun costume (Ruth Bader Guinnessburg), her love of beekeeping, “her” asteroid: Asteroid 249540 Eugeniescott, and of course what she intends to cover in her CSICon talk. Fortuitously, our beekeeping discussion led to several out of left field ideas. One was the unique topic for a talk Eugenie may propose for next year’s conference, bee pseudoscience. The other was a suggestion to invite Peter McIndoe, the mastermind of an outrageous satirical conspiracy theory, to give a future CSICon talk!
I hope you enjoy this interview. Perhaps our conversation will even make you consider attending this year’s CSICon where you can meet Eugenie and the other conference speakers in person, maybe even on the dance floor at the Halloween party.
